Whats the difference between the 8400 GS in the hp dv2500t and the hp dv6500t? Is there even a difference to begin with?

I ask because if there isn't, then the only difference between the 2 laptops is size and then it'll be easier for me to make a decision to buy.

if they both say 8400gs then they are the same..if one is gs and one is gt, they are different.

Yep, but if one is a GS and one is a GT, the GT would be faster than the GS.

One has 64 bit memory module, the dv2500t and the other has a 128 bit.

Actually, there is a slight difference - the one in the dv6500t has 128MB of dedicated VRAM, whereas the one in the dv2500t only has 64MB. This actually could make a noticeable difference in games with large texture sizes (Doom 3 engine games, Oblivion, etc.) but usually should go largely unnoticed, since nVidia's Turbocache is actually not half bad. They both have 64-bit memory buses, however, as do all the other 8400M GS cards; it's only the amount of VRAM that differs here, not the bandwidth.
