    Article 35140 at the Inquirer clearly states 'We were wrong' in a direct reference about 35110. Please search around because there is plenty of documentation on this.

    so can we use 7series cards to play directx10 games on vista using Direct X 9 L, or not?

    DX10 games will work in Vista but you will not get the extra DX10 eye-candy, and some games will work in XP still but will be limited to DX9 mode. This is only because game vendors are building the games to work with both DX9 and DX10 right now, but in a few years they will be DX10 only and then a 7series or X1000 would not work. Until then, you are safe.

    You will never be able to get DX10 effects with a 7series card, only DX9 effects...

    Those articles are really outdated, many of us saw those articles a while ago but Direct X 9L for Windows XP never happened.

    Well, I mean, I'm sure DX10 effects can be achieved on a DX9 card but with software rendering.
