Good catch. I actually got Dirt2 for $10 on Sunday without realizing it was part of a bigger sale. I just found it with a google product search. I'm glad I jumped on it as its gone today.

Is Direct2Drive a good deal? Do you guys have any issues with it? I'm considering buying Battlefield Bad Company 2 via their service.

I have had no issues with Direct 2 Drive. It is basically just a download service. Once you get the games downloads they basically act like games purchased at a retailer.

What happens if you need to reinstall a game? Are you allowed a set amount of reinstalls or can you just keep coming back, logging in, and downloading the game again?

You can probably copy the downloaded files to a DVD/external hard drive and re-install off of that, like you can with EADM.

My question is, does D2D have any of their own extra DRM, or is it just whatever DRM came with the games themselves?

From my understanding, no D2D does not have their own DRM, but they probably will include DRM from the publisher if it's there.

I've had decent experience with D2D in the past (even though I've strictly moved onto steam now).

Some of these deals are steals though!!

I am thinking about buying sw:kotor since its pretty cheap in this deal. Only problem is I heard that game has serious issues with W7, and a lot of people cant even play it at all. I was wondering if its not worth the risk or hassle to get the game working, or if this issue is blown way out of proportion for this game. Any helpful tips on how easy or hard to get this game working in W7 would be great.

I have the Steam version of it and I have mixed success on Win7 x64. Sometimes it will run just fine for a couple of hours, others it will crash every 15 minutes or less. No obvious reason why one day is any different to the other! If you check out the Steam forums for the game, you will find that the solution which appears to have success is to download a particular nocd .exe and use that. There is some debate as to whether Steam would ban an account for that though, so I haven't bothered to try it. Those that have report that it works, although without Steam endorsement. If you have the D2D version, then I assume you'll be OK since they can't check your files!

I bought GTA IV for $4.97 new from NCIX.Com when they had a sale. It came with GTA Vice City and San Andreas for free.

Dang, I better start paying better attention. I'm getting Civ IV complete. I missed the deal with Steam over Christmas holiday, but this is an even better deal $9.95 total for Civ IV, Beyond the Sword, Warlords, and Colonization.

Yeah Vampire Masquerade, I played a bit of it but never finished it, and don't think I can find my original copy. I may have to pick it up again soon too.

SWAT 4 is also a great tactical shooter that should run well on netbooks too. Still fun to play. I own the CD version but may have to buy the digital version just to have. I'm loving digital more and more now.

I've got Vampire the Masquerade on Steam and I still love that game. I'm not into the "Twilight" craze at all and like games such as Castlevania where you're smiting the crap out of them as the hero. But I must admit, VTM is pretty sweet, even now.

I got the entire X-Com collection off D2D for $5.00 last year, but I had to run it in the latest version of DosBox under my own settings.
