In case you haven't seen yet, there is a DirectX update for all windows versions out.

Looks like it's audio improvements only.
Stuff to do with improving game performance when playing voices and reverb and mixing optimizations.
They never release a changelog for the end user runtimes though.
Just going off the new files and SDK change list. -
yeah thats true and you really cant roll back to previous versions afaik. once directx is out and installed on your system there really is no way to go back previous versions, wether it f!@#$ up ur system or not. the only thing to do is wait for a next release to fix issues.

You can always go to system32 and delete all dxdx9_XX.dll files
