I definitely think that is worth waiting for so much high tech in under $ 2k :D

Nvidia says it'll release DX10 video cards with the release of Intel's new chipset platform, Santa Rosa, scheduled for an early May release. However, don't expect widespread availability until at least June. You'll only find DX10 on select notebooks. The A8J series will definitely be one of those select notebook lineups.

We have a vague idea that the Go 8600 will be roughly pack the same power as the current Go 7900GS. The Go 8400 will pack roughly the same power as a Go 7600.

We won't know for sure until real benchmarks come out, but empirically a newer card will be a notch faster than a similarly branded card of the previous generation.

I think I will have to wait for the 8800 then... I want a more powerful video card then just a 7900GS's power.

Ahhh I can't wait anymore!! lol its been too long... the wait is driving me insane.

But all I can do is wait. Lets hope that the 8600 is a little more powerful then people think... Whats the point in getting a DX10 laptop if it can't play the DX10 games on high settings, the only reason you need DX10 graphics is if u already have the graphics on very high, and on new games the 7900 doesn't do that...

Expect a wait until the end of the summer. Nvidia has had some difficulty getting the 8800 to get into a laptop without frying every single component next to it. The desktop 8800 just puts out so much heat. I'll be impressed if Nvidia manages to keep the Go 8800 adequately cool.

I wouldn't underestimate the power of the Go 8600. Remember, that the card will be fast, and thw Go 7900 GS to which we are comparing it to, is no slouch. It is also a very fast card, and will run most games at near maximum, if not maximum settings, and resonable resolutions.

Did hear of any heat problems with the 7 series ?
Why would a newer technology, with a thinner chip be more heat exhausting ?
Isn't it the way Intel reduced power consumption in the Core 2 Duo and the future Centrino Pro ?
I mean, Nvidia will eventualy follow the same principles of diminishing the chips surface in order to lose heat !

The problem is that they need to find the technology on their own. You cant just copy others without paying any premiums. Copyrights infringement...

That's y if Intel went into the GPU race, i believe they wont be the last, but Nvidia might be.... lol.. jk

since when Intel has copyrights on thinner or any other form of chipsets ?
c'mooon, i was talking about a specific technology trend here, not about a patent !
