Was looking forward to this one, got a free copy with my desktop 5870 card.
Was not exactly counting down the hours till it was released but disappointed that its delayed again.

    No preload option either.

Even those steam websites stated already released.

Still says 8th for me too. I'll reboot steam and see if that does it.

Just played it! Damn nice! However, I got an SYSTEM FREEZE when I got 1st Place on 1 Match. Don't know why... Maybe DiRT 2 still not stable enough?

    A 2X 9800M GTX 2GB SLI(laptop) can beat the hell out of Radeon HD5870 1GB(desktop) GDDR5? OMG?
I think it's due to DirectX 9 rendering and smaller resolution(laptop screen) instead of DirectX 11. DirectX 11 is very heavy.
Your gaming room looks awesome! So many laptops around. XD

If you want to play a day early this seems to work if your in the same situation as me.

Got a free game code in my video card box.

Activate that code again on steam and it will tell you its already actiavted, however it will start to download and install the game files secretly in the background.

When all is done downloading (no progress indicator so just wait a while) go into your steam program files folder and find dirt2.exe and run it.

Game starts and plays fine, just no online mode and I was not able to save my progress as it said my game code was invalid when I tried to make my live account. Maybe an offline account will work to let you save.

I had an error xlive.dll was not found but fixed that by downloading and installing the games for windows live client.

Reminded me of Race Driver Grid a lot but with dirt :D also I never played Grid for long as I could not control my cars. I had bad control issues on this game but I only tried keyboard and the xbox 360 controller shortly. I think with some time and a few adjustments it will be fine. But I have my wheel to use and thats how I need to really test the game anyways.
