Yeah thats why they delayed it the final product is nice though.
The last 45 seconds was pretty good.

Daaaaaamn, imagine what graphics we would've had in games today if tessellation was already in DirectX 10... Wish ATI had more clout in the industry.
-
ah, so that's why i couldn't find it in Best-Buy after the console versions were released.

Why couldn't they just issue a DirectX 11 patch? How long is it delayed? Seems odd to delay a game for an API that is just days old and hardware that barely exists.
But Wow, I have to say that is impressive. -
Lostinlaptopland Notebook Consultant
DX11 is not days old, it is months if not years in development(as it is an extension of dx10) and seeing as the hardware has been in dev's hands since june you have to assume that this has been not so rushed a job.
-
You are not missing much on dirt 2. Wish I would have saved the $60 on the 360 version. after about 5 hours it become boring.
-
I know, but what I'm saying is that there are very few people that will have Windows 7 AND a DirectX 11 card at release. DirectX 11 is only days old in the hands of consumers. The technology is cool, but will have a very limited audience. I think its great that they cater to the least common denominator, but in this case I don't think it's warranted. But whatever. I won't buy it release day anyhow. Will wait for prices to drop as much as I liked the original DiRT.

what's up with microsoft? windows 7, what vista should have been, now dx11, what dx10 should have been.
you'd think they can push new tech because they have so much money. -

That's what was up eh?
I don't like the fact they delayed a game for technology that the majority of customers don't have yet.
A simple patch (given it could be huge) would have sufficed. -
Could be they want DX11 fully integrated into the game, not just a slapped on patch like for example Call of Juarez and DX10. I mean damn Call of Juarez looked amazing, but it ran like crap when the DX10 patch was released.

I know some people who used it since the beta and never had one problem that was vista's fault. Third party issues however were at times.

uh this was known months ago.

^^^Not that it matters, considering no one here seemed to know..............
Anyways, could they actually patch it to DX11? My thinking is two things, if they could do that that would probably be a HUGE patch and 2 it would probably be more glitchy then incorporating it with the game.
I like the water and dirt effects though. -
I don't know. They can patch the game easily to without being glitchy. It's not like many games haven't offered huge patches before. Plus it'd only be very few people that would download it, so they could make it almost the full game if they needed to. Kind of like Company of Heroes or The Witcher mods or patches. -
The looks of this game are some of the best I have ever seen..

If you have the time to let this one load.. the drivers view.. not the in car portion is FANTASIC! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0iSiDVI4-o&feature=related in HD it takes a while to load..but it is soooo worth it to see what the game will look like. -

You are right, im not really use to patching games because i have always had STEAM. So i never really knew what it was like.
I never even knew this game had BMW Z4's and cars like that. I thought it was strictly rally vehicles. The last video is nice though. Apparently a newer DX11 vid should be out soon.

Count me in as one of the people ready for this game.
> Win 7 DX11 Check (Win 7 Upgrade should be in the mail on Monday)
> DX11 Video Card Check (ATI 5870)
> Force Feedback Steering Wheel Check (Logitech Momo)
> Game Check (came free with the 5870)
Im in no rush I have lots of other stuff to play before it comes out. For racing I really enjoy Burnout Paradise, and 2nd to that Need for Speed Shift. -

Yeah burnout paradise is probably the best game i have played that give you a sense of speed while racing.
Im surprised GRID wasnt nice on your setup -

If I hash it out and mess with the control options for a while it should be fixable, but with NFSS I kinda feel that I do not have a reason to play GRID. -
I prefer Rally / Off-road racing to circuit or street racing any day. One game I really loved was Rallisport Challenge on the original XBOX and I haven't found a game that comes close yet.
