I'm obviously biased since I loved Dirt 2 so much Dirt 3 is just as good if not better. Excellent performance for my specs listed below (about 40 FPS ave depending on location).

Cars handle well and the modes are fun, tracks are very nicely detailed, very much worth the price.

Still haven't beat DiRT 2. I like racing games, but only every once in a while. And a controller would be nice...

The most fun I ever had with a Rally game was Rallisport Challenge 1 & 2. I haven't gotten very far with DiRT 2 yet, so probably won't get DiRT 3 unless cheap or until I get through DiRT 2.

Well if this helps, heres my benchmark:

    275.27 betas
    Dirt 3, 1200p, Sli, Ultra, 8xCsaa: 43.6 FPS Average, Min 36.2, Max 59.2
    Dirt 3, 1200p, Sli, Ultra, 2xMsaa: 52.6 FPS Average, Min 41.2 Max 61.1

So since two 9800m GTX perform a bit slower than a GTX460m this can be a good reference.
Mind you my cards does only DX10/9 so no DX11 for me. Those with newer Fermi/Ati with DX11 mobile cards may achieve lesser fps, since the game is heavy in DX11 (im doing 75fps of average on my desktop rig).

Hmmm are you sure that 2x9800m GTX will perform slower than a single GTX460M?.

9800m GTX in SLI will be faster than a single GTX 460m. The 9800m GTX is nearly the same as a GTX 260m, and the 460m is maybe 30% improvement over the 260m.

Well i cant really compare them as i dont own a gtx460m, but iirc that 2 9800gtx/260gtx were similar to a single gtx460m.
Well if they are faster thats cool ;) this xps still going strong!
The only thing that lacks is a quad core, my x9000 is getting old.
Anyway...having such performance at 1920x1200 maxing out every setting is indeed awesome.

I've noticed something weird with the head2head and possibly rally races. If it has multiple stages, the second stage usually has much higher FPS than the first one despite the same location and everything...
    Really strange.

Best rally experience ever for me was Richard Burns Rally. It was so good, and CMR 05 was so bad in comparison, that I, at that point, had decided not to even try any further CMR games. Now, after having enjoyed RBR for 5 years, I feel ready to try and see if these new CMR DiRT series is any good. I think I will chose DiRT 3 over its predecessors for all the praising this game is having. :) Will post my impressions here in a few days.

Runs amazingly well on my rig, 1366x760, all high settings, average 50 fps.

Great game, Finally the legendary GROUP B. i LOVE IT.

Got one little minor problem though, i got some wierd graphic glitch with the sun being a red blob of mess? and some of the text is just red as well, like it's been cut out? wierd.

Anyway, back to playing it :D

Ive been playing since the minute it was unlocked on steam. GTX 260m + P8700 and everything including AA maxed out no Vsync and Im running smooth as butter with no slow downs. (1680 x 1050 resolution)

Im getting close to finishing the single player part of the game and Ive gotta say the rally bits are better the gymkhana bit has been a blast even though I expected it to be not that fun. To me its Dirt 2 but the environmental graphics quality on steroids and a new lens filter.

Edit: Anyone else think load times are a bit long in Dirt 3?

the game runs very good. i have everything maxed out except for post processing to medium due to DX10 card mirrors and shadows to medium and AA to 8. in game i have about 35-40 fps. still did not noticed less than 30 even with rapture to ultra. wish other games will run like this such as f1 and nfs shift 2.

as i can see what they did is they optimized and polished out the game engine a lot and the result can be seen. not a lot of innovation in this time. it looks awesome and it feels real i dont want nothing more and my laptop still rocks after almost mm.. 4 years of having it. still have to get used to playing it better cause i get frustrated mos of the time with only abs enabled.

    good job codemasters.

Does someone know how to correct the fullscreen bug other than modifying the xml file and or pressing alt+enter.
Both of these have been done and my game still refuses to go fullscreen, i can only play in windowed :(

Specs? No troubles here switching to fullscreen or windowed, it may be a driver related issue.
So what are the drivers and gpu you using?

Also...NBR PEOPLES! Add me, im looking forward to do some multi together. Since now it supports squad based events, we should do an NBR match all together.

Sorry to revive this thread and advertise but I have an extra copy of Dirt 3 to sell if anyone is interested. I have the details in the NBR Marketplace
