Just a note to all of you with Intel graphics on your notebooks. I was wondering why the display on my Compaq 6190p looked like utter garbage (poor contrast on certain gray-colored elements, an ugly dithered look) when I came across a "feature" in the Intel control panel called "Intel Display Power Saving Technology". Basically, this decreases the contrast of gray colored items on your display to increase battery life.

It doesn't seem to increase battery life much, but it gives everything a "flat", ugly look.
