OK, so I have an ATI Mobility 5830 (laptop in my sig) and I am getting crashes (kicked to desktop) at every scene transition load screen in Dishonored. I had similar issues with Spec Ops: The Line. This seems like an Unreal Engine problem, but I certainly could be wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my frustration is causing me to lose interest in this game.

I have the exact same card and I have never crashed at all with Dishonored.

I've used Catalyst 12.8 and 12.11 Beta11. Had no problems with either of these, other than a short delay lag the first time I load a savegame, it's like the game is in slow motion for a split second after the loading screen, then everything is normal.

I'll try beta11 and/or last official CCC and see if it helps.

this was it. i updated from 12.11 beta6 to beta11 and no more crashes. i suppose this is a chance i decided was acceptible when i installed a beta. i should have thought to do this in the first place. i also got a nice bump in performance (35fps -> 45fps). time to up the resolution (900p ->1080p) thanks!

Good to hear it worked! Yes, I think I have most of the settings maxed at 1080p, except with anti aliasing turned off and using FXAA isntead.

Really beautiful game IMO, the best visuals of any game I've ever played, even using FXAA.

Forgive me my ignorance on this matter; What is this WHQL? sounds important and I'll stick with only WHQL drivers then

Windows Hardware Quality Labs testing. Not that it makes a difference, they just test it and "validate" it as a good driver.

All drivers crash, some work better than others, usually with drivers, one would go with the second newest one (unless the newest one has some crucial fixes).
