    IMHO, I think one should never update a Graphics Driver by installing over the top or using GeForce Experience or any other utility. Even if you *think* you never ran into any problems before by doing so, you might have faced a glitch here or there and never even thought it was due to a conflict between the older driver remnants. Thus, to reduce the margin of error, I highly recommend you use Display Driver Uninstaller (AKA DDU) by running it as Admin, then choosing to run it by rebooting into Safe Mode then hitting clean and restart.

    Next, when you are at the point of installing the nVIDIA Driver, also choose Custom, and check the radio box which says "Clean Install", this is like a double cleaning method just to ensure we have the cleanest install possible.

    Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) V16.0.0.1 Released.

    ChangeLog:
    -Now using WPF instead of WinForm.(1 big advantage: its DPI friendly)
    -New log style. (Check it out)
    -Added the ability to DDU to change folders permission that were failing to be removed before.
    -Now using SetupAPI instead of DEVCON for device removal.
    -Ability to alter folder and registry permission for removal. (Only for an item to be removed )
    -Fixed Physx was always getting removed in some part of the code.
    -Enhancement to the automatic language selection on first launch.
    -Improved overall quality of the code.
    -And a lot of other not really worth to mention little changes here and there.
    -Nvidia and AMD addition cleanUP
    -v16.0.0.1 Fixed a crash if "c:\users\Public\pictures\nvidia corporation" does not exist.

    Important note: Most of these change wouldn't have been possible without the help of a fantastic coder: "devmltk"

    Recommended usage:
    -The tool can be used in Normal mode but for absolute stability when using DDU, Safemode is always the best.
    - Make a backup or a system restore (but it should normally be pretty safe).
    -It is best to exclude the DDU folder completely from any security software to avoid issues.
