First thing to do is go upgrade your video driver and BIOS. I will also suggest disabling useless features like Vista Aero. If this doesnt do it then call customer service right away. Ask to speak to a manager!

I had this error with those drivers as well, i uninstalled then used driver sweeper and reinstalled and didnt experience the problem again, id agree with the above post, update bios if needed, uninstall, clean with driver sweeper and then either install the latest drivers i think 186.3 or reinstall factory drivers..good luck..

I have experienced it 1 time, and I just updated the GPU-driver, and it seemed to fix it - I have not experienced it in 1.5 months now :)

I have also experienced this problem mainly when playing Crysis on my old laptop. Basically the GPU got too hot and downclocked itself and the drivers then crashed. Maybe you should check your vents for dust blockages and maybe re-apply fresh thermal compound on the GPU. This way you may be tackling the root of the problem. Changing the drivers may just delay the problem a little longer until your GPU eventually packs up!

I hate to say this, I've experienced this twice before the first time being the worst, t was a graphics card running at 140C. The 2nd time luckily was a driver issue.

Can't say much more than what King of Interns has posted above.

I just experienced it myself. I had my AC off and i have not cleaned out my vents in a while and i was playing Combat Arms. My computer got pretty hot then shut down. It did'nt happen to me b4 because i usally download my GPU when playing non intensive games by half.

But when put it back up for competitive play my GPU locked up and i got the error.

    So to fix it.

Clean your vents, and make sure your room is moderately cooled, and maybe update to a new driver. :)

I don't think this is heat issue since I experience it with my 9800M GTS (M860TU) at 60C idle with just opening 3dmark06 program. But it's random.

I don't it's the heat either. I was playing Texas Hold'em Poker on Facebook when it happened, and my GPU wasn't hot.

But as I said, I haven't experienced it since that.

Well, my drivers are updated and I experience it. It might be because of too much overclock. Did you overclock yours?
