anyone play this? i saw it on sale for only $5.99 off of amazon, so i checked out some reviews. the game had very good reviews, from top to bottom, so i said what the heck. all the reviews said the game was worth 100+ hours of gameplay. hopefully it'll hold me off til when guild wars 2 finally decides to come out.

i'm only like level 9 or 10 at the moment, but the game is starting to get more interesting. i started an archer, and am barely starting to mix and match some of my skill trees. any good builds out there?

I've only ever heard good things about it. I purchased this on OnLive a few months ago for $5 but have yet to get around to it. Maybe some day!

I picked it up on sale recently as well.

The gameplay is a bit similar to Kingdoms of Amalur, but with a less cartoonish art style.

It was fun but one really annoying part of the game is that it is not possible to wait or sleep. As a result, you end up spending 90% or your playing time standing around just outside of enemy line of sight, waiting for your magicka or health to refill so you can continue fighting. Maybe there is a better approach to get around this issue, but it got to be so bad around level 8 or 9 or so that I stopped playing.

i think that's what the summons are for. there's a DPS one, a healer, and a tank. i'm sure each one was made to fit a different playing style. eating or drinking stuff will help u regenerate hp/mp faster. there's also life and mana leech skills/items too.

tip: create a hotkey for target locking. it helps big time when u have a bunch of enemies rushing towards u. it's a must have for an archer like myself.

This game is far and away worth more than $5.99 and a steal !

Played Divinity II: Ego Draconis and the Dragon Knight Saga is the same game ,but with enhanced graphics and added content !

Been waiting for this version to come down in price and never expected to see it at this price..............downloading as we speak !

Totally worth it! Bought it from Amazon back in Dec 11 for $8; got about 50 hours of gameplay, only completed about 1/3 of the side missions [actually the side missions are pretty interesting]. I think a lot of US/Canadian gamers haven't heard of the game because it's a European-actionRPG [just my opinion].

As a side note, Amazon is throwing a sale because they finally got the DRM-FREE version of Divinity II- DKS into their system [that's right no SecuROM].

Some say the warrior is the harder and the archer is a bit overpowered on high levels. I'm playing mage, just to look at the spells ;)

It is really a GREAT game!. I'm only a couple of hours in it and love it already

I don't think so, it ran pretty good on my machine without any crashes. Also the game came out a few years ago [Jan. 2010] so most of the bugs have been addressed.

really? it seems like the exact opposite for me. a warrior with some HP leech and a heal/tank ghost would easily hack and slash thru just about everything besides boss fights. i'm only lvl 12 (i think) right now and to fight as a pure archer, u have to be very sneaky and there's no real helpful dps skills at the lower levels. one of the main reasons why i always pick a pure archer class is because they are so hard to master and play well vs every other class. i love the extra challenge.

90% of reviews/videos i've seen are of 2-handed or dual wielding warriors.
haven't run into any bugs so far. i'm on 1080p @ extreme (max) settings right now and i get a crispy 40FPS. if i'm not mistaken, the Dragon Knight Saga edition of this game was remastered with HD texture compared to the original release versions. the DKS edition also includes the original game and the expansion.

Any way to smooth out the mouse pointer?

Using the mouse in-game is fine, but in menus it's a bit jaggedy.

    graphic or mouse tracking/feel?

the game has been a blast so far. i went ahead and remade another archer. after more experience and research, i was able to remake a much better and more focused character. this game was definitely a steal @ $5.99! :D

It's a bit repetitive. The quests are fun, but I've been in the same underground passage a dozen times and fought the same goblins/skeleton groups a hundred times...

really? i've been running around and doing all the side quests lol. i haven't been on the main quest since i got the dragon knight powers from Talana. i enjoy looking through every nook and cranny to find secret stuff though, so it might be different for me. have u gotten your skull to summon your demon and stuff yet?

    I love the game!

But man the frame rate sucks; I'm having to run the game at medium with shadows and things turned down. My poor i5 struggles to keep lag and dodge from killing my archer ;) This give me around 20 fps, 6 FPS at extreme settings! Compared to overall visuals, to several other games, I would have to rate the graphic engine about 6 out of 10 for speed.

No major bugs so far! Big points there!

My install would hang at end when trying to install the Adobe junk. This may have been due to installing a third party PDF viewer to avoid the Adobe PDF "root-kit" junk. Well not rootkit; but definitely a megabyte reader ;)

I'm having too much fun to spend a lot of time on the install or settings so will work at it down the road.

No skull yet, just trying to get to Loris or whoever.

It's not that it's not fun, just each dungeon seems repeated...

yeah, the graphics aren't mind blowing by any means, but they are much better than decent. i'm using extreme graphic settings with anisotropic filtering turned down from 16 to 4 and high shadow quality. i get 30-40 FPS in the open world/fights and fraps pegs 60FPS whenever i'm inside small establishments like the tavern or something. i guess i don't really have too much to complain about except for the stupid summoned demon, u get from the skull. that thing doesn't follow or initiate very well...
well that's probably because u're still at the very beginning of the game. try venturing around and steppin away from the main quest for a few levels. my new character is almost level 15 already and i JUST met Lovis last night. i opted to run around and level up and unlock some secrets before i hopped back onto the main quests.

It plays much better on my i7-2720qm and GT525m (yes) with a WD 500GB Caviar Black.

Loads faster than Witcher 1 did on my desktop. In fact, the saving/loading system is commendably fast and snappy.

Ok, so what's the purpose of disenchanting?

Do I learn the enchantment I disenchant? Do I get the resources?

You sujre I don't get anything? One of the tips is to disenchant before I sell any item...

not 100% sure. most of the time, my enchants are better, or higher level, than what's already on an item.

The game was fun at the beginning, but at later stages of the game, i must say the the game failed to be a good rpg for me. I remember the first time I played. I went warrior and soon to dual wield. At level 10, I owned every monster, every boss and never had to run away once and never died. The point is, you character gets way too overpowered. Really. At the end of the game, I had like 2500+ damage. At level 47, one swipe was all that was required to kill any 38+ monster. Only challenge will be the final battle.... dont want to spoil it for anyone so zzziippp......
But thats just my experience. I only played it once. And funny thing is I never missed a side quest. lol
