Hi people. Ive had my laptop about a month and was quite happy with it. Its a 5920G as shown in my sig. Im using drivers from laptop2video and can run COD4 smoothly etc. Only probs is after about 45 mins of play, everything starts jerking and stuttering. This happens when my temps hit 87 degrees while playing COD4, even Far Cry maxed out  Ive read a bit about botched cards released by Nvidia and was wondering if theres anything I can do? I bought the laptop from Amazon. Oh and its not overclocked, running at stock 475/400. Quite annoyed tbh as Im also using a Cooler Master NotePal Infinite. Any ideas or answers? Tbh, im looking into returning it and ordering a new one from a particular gaming brand of laptop.

It is likely hardware, have you checked CPU temps?

You can't return it as you're past the 30 day return policy. A laptop purchased 36 days ago should not be affected by the nVidia soldering problem.

But that's on the hot side, and likely is resulting in downclocking of your video card (so half speed = stutter, etc). What are your cpu temps? You might try undervolting your cpu to reduce overall heat in the system, but other than sending it in or reapplying thermal paste yourself, there's not much else you can do - it's an Acer, and even better built computers overheat with some of those games.

    Do you have any warranty?

It's still Oct 9.. I'd send it back, you should receive it well in advance of Dec 15. If you really don't want to send it back, try some of the cooling mods. I put my own thermal paste on the CPU & GPU as well as the copper mod over the GPU core and my temps dropped significantly. They rarely hit 80 while gaming whereas before They would be in the 87-91 range.
