I searched the internet, it seems that many people are having problem with ATI Tool.ATI.AMD is still having a lot of problem with drivers [it seems that Catalyst 7.3 has some stability issue].So you should wait a bit.

no theres no overclocking in vista right now, at least for ati cards.

ati tool 27 beta is the best bet but it doesn't work for all.

As posted the ATI Tool 27 beta is useless, at least from my experience.

I am able to overclock my Radeon X700 by using PowerStrip. It's the only utility that has worked for me. Downoad here:

Ok guys to cheer you up a bit - ATI card is easily overclocked in Vista using beta Ati tray tools - the best tool anyway.

    Go here:
    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Video-Tweak/ATI-Tray-Tools.shtml

    1. download
    2. install
    3. disable powerplay in CCC or any other tool that supports it (probably just CCC)
    4. overclock in ATT and save profile or whatever you like
    5. enjoy.

On my x1600 256MB I used 7.2 drivers and at the stock speeds of 425/375 it scored 3900 3dmark 05. overclocked to 570/477 it scored over 4800 3dmark05.

    Cheers,

    Ivan

Sorry for the delay - I was on a holiday for a week!

Turn off the Vista "UAC" - User Account control in Control Panel - Security - Security Center - Other Security options. And log in as an administrator - no problems whatsoever. I have no regrets turning off this security feature. :)

    Cheers,

    Ivan
