Ever since the popularity and pricing of their Audiotechnica ATH M50 headphones over the summer, they have increased their price by ten fold with each month.

What used to be $105, was $122, then $133, and now to the current price of $153. They also use SMART advertising with their promotion of a decrease in $10 but in actualization that a $20 increase in order to take full advantage of their promotion. By lowering the price of their headphones by 10 dollars, that take away from the promotion of getting a $40 off discount. It rather a screw way to lie to their customer.

I just wanted to warn people of this company because while they have a high reselleratings scores, be wary of their price and there so call "promotions" as it usually is not the price one expected.

As for me, i'm sticking to Amazon where their price is fair and don't fluctuate every single month.

Prices can change. Supply and demand are not always consistent. Granted, a not-quite 150% increase does seem a little steep over a period of a few months, but not impossible, and certainly a far cry from "ten fold each month". And Amazon is not immune to such things; a headphone I paid $55 for is now well over $70, and another model in the series that used to be $35 now goes for over $50.

In the end, as long as what they say they're charging is what gets taken from your card or bank account, there's nothing fraudulent about it. It's up to customers to make sure that they're getting the best price for a given item.

A high price or price change does not make them a bad company, nor does "creative" advertisment.

Nobody bashes Alienware/Dell for basically always selling laptops over price and when you get one of these big 20% off coupons you think its a great deal but its only actually bringing it down to what should be the normal price vs competing companies like MSI or Asus.

There is a different code/coupon almost daily for Dell like that.

What makes them bad is if they have poor customer service, do bait and switch, false advertising, bad shipping procedure, etc.

Firstly, tenfold means multiplied by 10. So unless the price went up to $1000 the second month, it's not tenfold.

Second, it's not like they change the price without telling anyone. There's nothing shady going on, the price just goes up. Everyone is welcome to comparison shop.

    1. This is normal
    2. This is not a tenfold increase at all, much less tenfold every month.
    3. Feel free to stick with Amazon, but their prices are also subject to fluctuate, so you won't be escaping the described phenomenon. The same exact thing does happen on amazon.

Audio Technica headphone prices seem to be increasing slowly as the model gets older. The A700 which I got for £150 a year and a half ago now cost about £200. The M50 also went up by about £30 over the course of a year. Might be due to supply/demand though...

The company making the headphones might have fallen victim to the Thailand flooding just like the hard drive makers. Component prices go up, the cost is passed on to the consumer. Business 101.

If it's a reputable website then I don't think you have any business warning people of their pricing scheme. If they price it how it is, it's because it's selling and people who aren't smart enough to price compare probably aren't doing web shopping anyways. I thought you were warning the site was some kind of scam, which it clearly isn't. You just don't agree with their prices. Tough luck. I'm pretty sure every web shopper is conscious enough to run a quick price check search rather than blindly buying something off ONE website.

this is just good business, its like a few days ago i look at some shoes and the seller told me they cost 1000 and next day when i came to buy he said 1200, i still wanted the shoes so i paid 1200. He earned 200 more because of my lust for an object.
