Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
Holy dang price! That's over $800 USD!
However, the thing is does it work with my Elitebook. If it does, I guess I need keep saving up.

Yeah TDP is 100W however so a chunk more than the 5870.

Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
No worries on the TDP. I already got a 200W AC Unit that comes with this thing. Also, the 8740w can handle a Quadros 5000M, which is essentially a Quadros version of the GTX 480M. -
256 bit GDDR5 sooo yummy
-
Will it work as a replacement in a MSI GX660?

Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
Well I am guessing that the folks on this site will try to "mod" the card so it can work on several OEM laptops. They even offered the 6970M for "Industrial Uses" and they say they make it work with many "Corporate Features." So I am guessing that they will make them work in some form or way?
The "official" Industry version of the 6970M is the FirePro M8900, which hasn't been released yet or has any specifications has been posted. So this group making a claim that they can convert the 6970M for Industry uses means they will do some form of "modding." -
That looks yummy ._.
Can I has one? Will it fit in my laptop? ( I have a 5730 atm ) -
Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
Unfortunately, the N61 I believe only has integrated slots. Meaning, your 5730M was soldered onto the Motherboard, not slotted it. So it is impossible to change it. The card here is for systems that has the MXM-3.0b Slot System. -
Also if it is not soldered on, then there is a good chance that it would be an ASUS proprietary reverse-MXM slot anyway.

Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
Yeah that too...
Willing to hack mod it to work on the Elitebook. Heard the FirePro M8900 are essentially re-flashed 6970M's and also these people on that site are willing to make them work with corporate features enabled. Interesting to ask... -

Modern MXM 3.0 Asus laptops do not use the reversed format
However it is usually somewhat proprietary, I think there is a good chance of the 6970 working.
Whats with their gts 250m I want to know? specs are totally off!! more like 150m which was never put into production in a laptop (so maybe thats what it really is)
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Nope, its a 250m with 1GB GDDR3.
I had one. -

Where is your source on both of those being Asus cards?
They look like standard MXM to me. At least on the top one. The circuit traces from the pins go in the same direction as a standard 5850.
Did it have 64 shaders and was it 55nm? I wouldn't think so.
Off topic but can I have the vBIOS for that card?
I saw something similar on Ebay which has a board ID of p699, this would imply it is a gt 210m

I fail to see how that is reversed
Looks perfectly normal.
You want to see reversed (old mxm 2.1) here you go:
1. normal

notice the key in the pins. -

96 shaders, 40nm, 128bit DDR3, he just never changed the specs.
The bios can be found here:

From the latest twitter update, it seems to suggest that the 6970M isn't working in the test systems...
