Note that by "3D gaming" I mean the likes of NVIDIA 3D Vision or AMD HD3D.
-
Nah, i'm not a fan of the tech both on the PC or Consoles.
-
I hope it dies in a fire.
-
Baka thinks that 3D Gaming currently is only a gimmick and will only strain Baka's eyes and prevent Baka from long durations of gaming
-
nah i don't, i rather care on gaming performance. much better.

I agree with Baka. It isn't healthy for our eyes and it totally distorts the feeling when you play as well. Stick with 2D, which has always worked perfectly since the dawn of man.

I would definitely use 3D for sim-racing games. Add a head tracking camera, steering wheel w/ stick shift and pedals, and a triple monitor setup, and it would be a cool experience. The same thing could be said for flight sims.
-
I prefer long gaming sessions, and 3D doesn't mix with my gaming style. I already abuse my eyeballs enough, I don't need to utterly destroy them with 3D.

Maybe in the future, but for now, absolutely not.
A year ago I purchased a 2000$ 3D capable laptop and wasn't even able to use it because I discovered that I have astigmatism which makes me borderline vomit if I have the 3D glasses on for over 15 minutes each sitting. -
No, if anything, I hope that in future consoles the graphics are life-like.
As for computers however, no. I generally play a game for over 30 minutes and having 3D glasses on for over 30 minutes seems like a pain in the neck and a real discomfort, hence why I tend to take off my glasses and scratch my head during parts of 3D movies. -
-
There's also the fact tha 3D mucks up crosshairs in FPS games. It's really confusing to have a different crosshair for each eye.
-
I've tried it out at a demo at Micro Center...it's fun, and I wouldn't mind having it, but I'm not going to shell out hundreds of dollars for a 120Hz display and $100 for the 3D kit.
-
I just got done playing a 3 hour session of Batman Arkham City on my projector image all in Stereo 3d with no performance loss @ 720p max settings. The fight with Ra's Ghul is just phenomenal in Stereo 3d on a 120 inch image. I for one support this technology and hope to see other games in the future make use of Stereo 3d so well.
-
nope... tried it once and 15 mins in it gave me a headache and made me dizzy
-
3D = pay to ruin the eyes and brain and a free seizure = no thanks

That is the issue with 3D. Not everyone can enjoy it. People with poor vision, astigmatism, lack of vision in one eye, etc. It's "neat" and "fun" but I can't take it seriously for any extended period of time. Bring me life looking holograms and I might buy into it.

I answered "No" but that doesn't mean I do not enjoy it. While it's fun and I can utilize it with my Sager I rarely do. So I can do with out...3D along with motion control gaming isn't necessarily a fad but it isn't the future.

"Do you care for 3D gaming?" - Thread
It's mildly amusing and a gimmick that holds my attention for a few minutes before becoming an abstract feature that remains unappreciated on both conscious and unconscious levels. So uh. . . yeah. . . that Baka dude's right. I just don't have enough reason to care. -
-
Big time no on this one. 3d movies are big gimmicks to me, and gamings even worse.

The 6 people that answered yes likely thought you meant 3d vs 2d content, not 3d vs 2d display format

Nope, i'm suffering from myopia and mild color blindness so anything "3D" doesn't look quite right and also gives me almost instantaneous headaches.
-
I voted NO.
3D gaming for me is not important, nor enjoyable for it hurts my eyes and will give me a headache. Not sure tho after some years to come if they can fix it.
But hey, LG tv released a lag-free/blurr-free 3D tv! I tried it and it works! Much smoother than samsung or other 3D tv out there. Try it! I don't know if it works well for gaming and the size is 55" something. Battery free glasses too! -

One word: Overrated
-
The only good thing about 3D is making 120Hz displays more common. Otherwise it's a fad tech that really has limited use.
-
WHY LG TV Blog ::
I tried it and compared the 3D quality against Samsung 3D which is a lot more expensive than LG but for me that LG cinema TV is better (yet).
I am not bias, this is based on my experience on how I perceived the 3D quality. I love Samsung too, we're using it!
I'll wait until Samsung releases same quality and feature like LG.
I didn't have that few-minute-dizziness from LG cinema TV compared to Samsung or other 3D tv.

If you have a true 120Hz monitor then that's all you need for it to support 3D in theory. There are added extras you can get which basically increase the backlight when you put the glasses on, but that's not essential.
There's even a tweak which lets you do 3D on 60Hz screens, though you won't go past 30 FPS which sucks. -

My eyes are damaged by gaming , if with these 3D gaming 2-4hour everyday , my eyes gonna bleed and falls off..
-
No for one simple reason, I can't see 3D. Magic eye puzzles, Nintendo 3DS, red blue glasses non of them work my eyes simply won't see it. Might be able to use the new shutter style but since I wear glasses I've got no real wish to try them.
-
That one looks promising. So expensive that I wouldn't even consider it but I sure would like to try it some day.
