Do you know of any 15.4 WUXGA gaming laptops?![]()
Dell no longer has any 15.4 WUXGA laptops(except for their workstation which has quadro graphics)
Alienware Area-51 m5550 is the only one I could find but its battery life is poor.

The original Dell XPS is a 15.4 inch with wuxga 1900x1200 res, it also features either a 128mb radeon 9700 or a 256mb radeon 9800 pro and for the processor a 3.4ghz pentium 4 or 3.4ghz pentium 4 Extreme Edition, allthough 2 yrs old now it can still play games ok.

Woow...insane resolution on 15.4" LCD panel, but for game it looks fantastic. I think, if you look for such a resolution go with boutique rigs, like Alienware, Sager, VoodooPC(HP), Hypersonic, or Dell XPS line.

Like Devon already said: the original XPS is the only 15.4" gaming laptop with 1920*1200 screen.

no, alienware has a 15.4 inch lappy with wuxga, i saw it a few days ago and was amazed, hold on, i'll link to it.
EDIT here it is, go down to the display section, its an option: http://www.alienware.com/configurat...px?syscode=PC-LT-AREA51M5550-R3&subcode=SKU-C
you can get it with either an x1400, a free upgrade to a 6600, or a 7600
by the way, quadro cards of this current generation are very good for gaming, i have a quadro t2500 with 512 and it is identical in gaming preformance to a 7900gtx. -
I suppose it depends on what kind of performance you want.
There's some discussion of these issues on this thread on the TomsHardware forums:

I gotta agree that to drive WUXGA on games you'll need pretty big hardware, and I suppose it would be extremely difficult to get good enough cooling solutions into a 15.4" case. (Not to mention just how much you might have to crank up font size just to read stuff on your desktop, and that's coming from a guy who runs 1600x1200 on a 17" CRT.) -

The original Dell XPS wasn't the only 15.4" gaming notebook offered with a WUXGA display; the Sager NP5320 was offered with it. I opted for the WSXGA+ because if you have ever seen WUXGA on a 15.4", you would know that text and just about everything is very, very small. And at least with a WSXGA+ resolution, my X700 has a chance of running games; at WUXGA, no way.
15.4" laptops do not have video cards more powerful than a Go7600/7700, ATI X1600/1700, so playing most games at a WUXGA resolution is not going to be possible. -
I wouldn't agree with this statement completely. While my Quadro has done wonders for me, desktop Quadros still suck for gaming, the NVS line, while decent, is nothing spectacular. Nor is the Quadro FX 350M. IMO, the FX Go1400, 1500M, and 2500M (and possible NVS 510M) are really the only Quadro cards that fall into the "very good for gaming" category.

I wouldn't go for a 15.4" WUXGA with a go 7600 powering it. If you really need WUXGA, I suggest you get a 17" system so you can get a nice powerful GPU to go along with it.
Do you know of any 15.4? WUXGA gaming laptops?
