    My parent's HP is starting to die on them and they need to buy a new laptop.
    80% of the time it's hooked up to the TV and they stream media most of the time.
    Their old HP (3yrs old) has some gpu in it, but I never really looked more in depth on this.

    Do you need dedicated gpu for htpc laptop for youtube, hulu, netflix, etc. ?
    Or is integrated Intel 4400/4600 good enough ?

    If it's only streaming media, then as tijo said above, onboard Intel GPU is more than enough.
