trying to make change on trying shooting games on pc.
i have played games like tf2, and i get destroyed people be killing me like it's nothing!!!!! :/
is it the same on other games?
how do i get better and practice? because i hear alot of people say that its much harder on pc and theres no auto aim, but that means people online are good?
how active are mw3,bf3? because alot of people still play tf2...

practice practice and more practice.
pc fps are harder as it needs more skill using a mouse and keyboard.
imo best way to play games.
mw3 and bf3 are very active with thousands playing all around the world. -

depends on which game(s) and how you define skill
If you're comparing a game like mw3 one the consoles vs. the pc, then the tactical skill (thinking element) doesn't change between consoles and pc, more or less, and it's pretty low on both platforms.
There's also "technical skill" - on the console, you use a controller to aim and the game provides aim assistance. On the PC, you use a mouse and the game does not provide aim assistance. The technical skill of aiming with a mouse has a higher skill ceiling than aiming with assistance and a controller - but keep in mind that doesn't have much to do with the tactical aspect of the game.
Take a game like BF3. More or less the same situation, with the caveat that the game is somewhat different on the PC, because there are significantly more players and the maps are larger.
Then consider a game like Arma II, which is extremely challenging from both the tactical and technical perspectives, and there's really no comparison to anything on consoles.
Populations are large for popular pc games, including all of those you mentioned. To get better, make sure you have a reasonable mouse (some type of optical mouse hopefully) that isn't causing you problems, and then practice aiming. -
For me who started playing shooters like Counter-Strike 1.5/1.6 for years it was pretty easy to master also other shooters with the keyboard and mouse set-up. But even with the auto-aim setting on consoles it's pretty hard for me to play shooters on medium-skill level. I think it's all about comfort with what you've learned to play first. But arguably you could say that it should be harder without the auto-aim but a controller just doesn't provide the same accuracy so the skill level to master it in a single player game should be kinda equal. But if you compare it on multiplayer against each other, the mouse accuracy just destroys the controller.

if auto-aim wasn't on consoles, the skill curve would look a lot like the skill curve with a mouse / keyboard, shifted worse. it wouldn't be much different, functionally.
the auto-aim acts as an averaging element, though. technical aiming skill gravitates towards whatever the auto-aim function provides. so the distribution of skill is clustered towards the center. -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
TF2 is fairly easy. Mind you, I play(ed) with Pyro, probably the easiest one.
And I actually think that FPS is more harder on consoles. I remember playing some MoH title on PS2. It was next to impossible to aim. FPS on PCs on the other hand is easy. Mouse and keyboard - it's like they were created for FPS. -
I get destroyed in FPS's
Give me Civ 5...

Scout is a nightmare to play sometimes though, lol. -
basically, a mouse and keyboard is much easier to use for a fps, as such, for multiplayer games, pc is much harder because the average person is much better.

. Once you get the "inner feel" for aiming you can take out anyone with just one shot. And lol, that's my exact combo you've posted.

I get completely destroyed during my first tries in FPS. With practice you get better.

Console games tend to use autoaim (some PC games will add autoaim if you're using a controller) to slightly improve accuracy/ get you in the right place.
This is because a stick is way less accurate than a mouse. -
FPS?

Now THAT is skillLast edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015 -
I started my fps career with Unreal Tournament ( 1999 ) and still playing it !! ( Yes it is still active
)
It is brutal in the first weeks but you just gotta keep practicing like most of us said, mastering your mouse control to aim those heads or bodies or simply those virtual humans or monsters.
I enjoy playing with a mouse bettersince i have a better precision
Does Shooting games on pc? Require more...skill? Trying to make the change....
