If you do, please tell us how it performed on your games in dx10 mode(not dx9 mode), preferably in games like crysis, fear, oblivion etc. only those with the 8700m gt in SLI mode

We will have an XPS M1730 review up in about two weeks, our test unit has dual 8700M-GTs.

    crysis demo don't support sli

and chaz, be sure to post some FRAPS benchmarks.

I still stand by the benchies I did against a friends m1730 at 1920x1200 res maxed in bioshock, oblivion and graw2.

my fx2500 with stock 7950 clocks. matched and even exceeded the framerates that he scored.

lol, i read that review of the 8700m 512, I got those same benchmarks in bioshock at 1900x1200 res! everything cranked! 625/750, posted my fraps benchmarks in the 8700vs7950 thread.

damn, and they keep on fighting bout the 7950vs8700m.

the 7950 matches the sli8700m and even succeeds it even. when oc'd/in high res.... ya ya i know... the m1730 uber rig Kills at 1280x800.. lol, they should have made that it's MAX res of the screen!

I ran Crysis with all medium settings at 1280x800 I think and it ran pretty crappy from 10-20 fps. How can you change direct X modes in Crysis?

In Vista, the Crysis demo shortcut should have a right-click option to run in DX9 mode. If not, you can just add -dx9 to the very end of the command line of the shortcut.

It doesn't help much, though. Crysis runs horribly either way...

Thanks, the settings that I was playing it at were the recommended ones as well, so obviously the game doesn't know what hardware can handle it and what can't. I might try the updated drivers on it tomorrow.
