i am thinking about selling my 360 and all of my games/accessories in order to fund the mgs4 ps3 bundle that's coming out in a few weeks; however, the ONLY way i would do this is if i could retain my current setup: i have an hdcp-supported samsung 206bw monitor with a max res. of 1680 x 1050 and both d-sub (vga) and dvi-d connectors. i have my 360 connected to the monitor via the microsoft vga cables and the yellow/white audio cables are connected to my surround sound receiver.
i cannot afford an actual hdtv but this setup is perfect for my lifestyle. however, sony has not released a set of official vga cables and the only other ones available are these: http://www.gameyeeeah.com/wii-ps3-vga-cable-p-746.html
i can't seem to find any reviews or comments on the cable's ability to produce a clear picture on a computer monitor so i'm not sure if i should risk it.
does anyone on these boards know of the best overall method of playing a ps3 on a computer monitor? i don't want to spend more than $40 because i am on a college student budget and that's already a lot of money for me. i have had tons of experience on these boards and the community here has always been very helpful so any help would be MUCH appreciated. thanks in advance!

Get an HDMI to DVI adapter cable. However you wont be able to run the PS3 at full 1080p because your monitor is only "1050p" you would need at least a 1920x1200 resolution monitor for that.
It will work though, it just wont look as good as it could. Display wise, though you wont get any sound unless your monitor has built in speakers which in most cases are horrible anyway. All in all its not worth even trying.
Does anyone know how to connect a PS3 to an LCD monitor?
