    Does anyone know which directory I would look in to find my Oblivion save games.

    My HDD is dieing so I need to back up my Oblivion save games.

    yes, i have moved my oblivion installation several times. here are the files

    your savegames are inside:
    my documents\my games\oblivion\saves\

    also, if you want to keep your in game settings, you should also copy at least Oblivion.ini there:
    my documents\my games\oblivion\


    and last, maybe you have mods installed, if you want to keep the list of the mods that you have active, you should copy the plugins.txt file and DLClist.txt if exist, they are somwhere here:

    C:\Documents and Settings\youruser\local settings\application data\Oblivion
