Ugh link blocked on work comp, ill check when I get home. I have no interest in play BF2, maybe way later down the line but I like the futuristic look of BF2142, its appealing to me so now ive got a capable comp ive been dying to try it out. I just dont want to purchase an online game and have no one populating it.

BF2 has a lot better playing experience than 2142. between the two I MUCH rather play BF2. 2142 just seems a little bland and not designed as good.

Im tired of middle east conflicts though..... 2142 looks to give a fresh look, mecs and crap, there was another game frontline fuel of war or something but im not too keen on that one. BF2 does nothing for me...

Didn't BF2142 include mandatory invasive spyware/advertising? That right there sounds like a good reason to never play this game.

I remember playing the multiplayer demo of 2142. Sniping from the edge of the match was heaps fun.

BF2 is just all vehicle spam fest.

Play infantry only. Best experiences really, unless you play Wake Island, then you MUST have vehicles.

Personally, I prefer games that are in a modern or WWII conflict with weapons I can relate to. Sure they might not act like those in real life, but at least I have a general idea. If it's complete sci-fi you have no clue about each weapon or vehicle.

I prefered 2142 over BF2 once I got used too it. I liked the futuristic environment/weapons.

BF2 was great but I just got tired of it after playing it for so long, 2412 seemed to have more variety to it so it did not get old to me as fast.

Even now with all the newest games like CoD6 and BFBC2 they feel closer to BF2 and 2142 still stands out to me as the one that was different. I really liked it but just moved onto different things.

Learn 2 anti-tank. It's called battle field for a reason, although it might not seem so from games like BC2.

Anyways yes, BF2 >>> 2142, I still play it from time to time when it finds its way onto my machine.

Titan mode is easily one of the coolest things I've ever played in a video game. I really wish they would sell 2142 on Steam...also, I hope they don't ruin it by releasing a sequel on the Frostbite engine.

No, and to be frank I hope it stays that way, at least until DICE gets their crap together.

I haven't played in a while mostly due to waiting for the new patch to come out. Like BF2's latest patch you'll no longer need the disc in the drive to play and I believe shortly afterwards we'll see a release on Steam. It is a good game though, not as enjoyable to me as BF2 but still fun.

    My take on it^

Unfortunately, it still suffers from numerous movement bugs, especially on the Titans (and more so on ones that are moving). I still love playing 2142 to some moody, somewhat emotional music like in many movie scores/soundtracks or lately, Pink Floyd lol. One other thing I would love is a complete change on the Light Machine Gun mechanics. I can understand the recoil compensation on them as a balancing tool (you keep on firing to get more compensation to get more accuracy, but of course in turn increases heat and you waste ammo), but sometimes it's incredibly annoying as it makes burst firing like with a real gun almost useless. The compensation never gets tight enough to help you out at long range.

Personally I would love a true sequel to 2142, though I'd much rather have BF3. BC2 really doesn't fill that gap for me. Especially as forgiving as it is with recoil. No one should be able to just unload an LMG or assault rifle at full auto on someone at 50M and expect to hit a person with each round.
