I don't know if any of you are familiar with the game Deus Ex but it's a classic RPG/FPS game made back in 2000 featuring the nano-augmented agent JC Denton. I bought the game many years back and still play on multi-player now. For those of you who haven't played Deus Ex before I would highly recommend getting it, you can get it for near enough nothing now, as it truly is an amazing game despite the fact that's it's 7 years old. Yes, the graphics are dated as it uses the first Unreal engine but graphics aren't as important as brilliant gameplay which this game has in abundance. Anyway I was just wondering if there are any fellow Deus Ex multi-players on these forums as well :)

Yes it has a thriving multi-player community, there was a patch which added multi-player capability and a Game Of The Year Edition - it won a BAFTA.

It is a legendary game along with the likes of Half-Life and Halo. I've completed both the PC version and PS2 versions. Wow man, you should get on multi-player there are quite a few American players online.

Yes I did but not properly. I'm going to buy it again and play it. I don't think it could beat the 1st one but like many things, mainly movies, the first - the original is usually the best.

DEus ex was extremely fun, and had a fantastic storyline. The whole game was just fun, the augmentations, weapon mods, RPG elements, stealth. It was great! The second was still fun, but my PC couldn't handle it, infact NO ONE's PC could, not even the most high end pc of it's time, infact alot of PCs even now can't play it smoothly... THAT was why it failed...

Oh btw, THEY ARE MAKING A THIRD!! It's been in development for a few years now, supposed to come out around 2008.

That was an awesome game. The storyline and the play was what really got me into it. If I remember correctly I played that game almost non-stop for a week and nearly lost my girlfriend. The plot was very riveting and very well done. I've started the sequel, but somehow was never able to really get into it - probably because I was so into the original storyline.

    Spoiler

BTW _ What ending did you guys choose? I saved my game right before I finished so I could see the results of each of my actions - But the ending I liked best was to become part of the machine.

The Deus Ex music still sends chills down my spine. It definitely had a smart storyline. Multiplayer was a little difficult because it was hard to switch between augs when needed.

I have high hopes despite the fact that Warren Spectre, the creator of for series isn't going to be involved with the making of the game. I'll have my fingers crossed. BTW, I thought the second game was ok, I didn't mind the changes to the inventory/stats/skills system. I loved the locations they used, especially Egypt.

I absolutely loved the first game, but I never played the multiplayer. I'll have to see if I still have a copy to check it out.

Deus Ex 2 was ok, but thought it was a little too easy.

I still have my copy somewhere around my computer desk... I installed it around 2 years ago on my "new" rig (back then) to see how it looked with all max settings, and played it a bit.

Didn't even know there was a multiplayer patch, though :p. But alas, its glory days are over, even with multiplayer, I don't think I'll be playing it again any time soon.

Deus Ex should be turned into movie as long as it's got a big budget and good director and producer who will keep the film as faithful to the game as possible.

My favourite PC game I think. Very close between this and C&C Red Alert 2.

Although I've never finished it - I was killed a few times by the commandos in the maze by the mansion in Paris and have never sat down to finish it. Played the beginning of the game soo many times though haha.

The second was ok... I had it on the xbox. The slowdown on that was immense and even my mates pc couldn't handle that engine. Unfortunately, the game was a bit too restrictive and linear in comparison to the first and they had dumbed it down way too much.

Lets hope they can pull the series back on track with the next game.

Well, maybe after I finish Monkey Island 1 & 2, Crysis and get tired of Battlefield 2142 and UT3. Maybe :)

I don't really have much gaming time to be honest. At least with Monkey Island I can catch up with people on msn at the same time...

I do recommend BF2142 but you need to play it online as the bots on single player plus the restricted levels means its pretty much useless. It could get boring but it is good if you get into it!

Wow Deus Ex... best game ever made imho. i got it when it first came out when i was like 12 lol. it was the first pc game i ever played and i still consider it the best. i used to play through it like several times a year. i got really really into the multiplayer early in high school, i only played on the no-augs servers. i havent played the game in a couple years though, kind of makes me sad. =(
