Does it matter if the GFX card is in the parent or daughter slot?

I got a clevo D901c (sager 9262) and its not performing on par with similiar systems. I'd expect a 9500 3dmark06 score out of the box, and other people have reported that score.

Avadirect sent it to me with a 6700 score listed in the paperwork. I've managed to get it to 8200 but while I've been swapping out drivers, the score is slowly dropping. My last test, after using driver cleaner, gives a score of 7100.

I was looking in the bios config and I saw that the 8800m GTX was installed in the daughter slot, does it matter or should I move it to the parent slot?

Any other advice on solving this would be welcome. Thanks.

I've gotten a 7100 and a 8400 score from the 174.70 drivers on two seperate installs. The 7100 test just completed. I'm going to try to install the stock sager drivers next.
