I know several users here have the 3700m on laptops other than the hp 8730w and Lenovo w700, myself included.
The 8730w and w700 both support HDMI so I am fairly certain the card itself does support it.
However, I don't have any HDMI monitors or TVs.

Does someone want to give it a try, maybe use HP drivers? It would certainly be interesting to see that the mxm 2.1 gtx 280m is not lacking hardware support for HDMI and we could somehow get it working by flashing with the 3700m VBIOS.
