The computer in my sig just died. The gpu is fried. It's MXM, so I could replace it, but it's 200 bucks. And I'm not payin 200 for 6800. I've decided to get a new computer. I'd be happy with anything that play games just as good as my z81.

Would this laptop outperform the one in my sig?

I've been out of the loop for a long time with regards to graphics cards, but I do remember that the integrated intel chips blew hardcore. Still my computer is 3 years old and I wouldn't be surprised if this machine would outperform it.

I would rather just have my z81 working again and save the money (played fallout 3 and oblivion just fine, that's all I cared about. Even ran Crysis at a decent framerate), but it's just not happening. Money is really tight right now (which is why I was looking at the gateway), but if I'm gonna get a new laptop maybe I might as well just get something decent, like this one:

    I'm having trouble deciding.

Both of your links aren't working for some reason. The first one goes to a bunch of ovens and cameras, and the second is a 404.

Unless you're buying a new atom-based PC, then yes, whatever new notebook you buy will outperform your old one.

That one is way behind the times, no offense. :)

Go with the ASUS, you're looking at 2.5x the performance of your Go 6800.

    That's what I was thinking.

Chances are, just about anything except a netbook will outperform that old clanger. Hell, even my 3650 would probably come close to performing near that 6800 Go.

6800 would be marginally better than some low end and integrated cards, used to be a high end card, but the old processor technology it uses makes it even slower. Any medium range card would be better, and higher end would blow it out of the water.

Yeah- even midrange laptop cards like the 9600m gt will trash a 6800. And Ati's 3650 or 46xx are even faster.

However.. i would try to get a better laptop.. Core 2 Duo is becomming old and if you want a more fullproof laptop , try getting an ASUS G51J or some laptop which core i7 mobile tech.. its will take much longer to become obsolete compared to a core 2 duo laptop.. core 2 duo is reaching its last legs which mobile core i7 out..

That isn't to say that Core 2 Duo now offers horrible performance no matter what, it's still quite prevalent, and many low end Dell's will probably use it for a couple more years.
