Don't You hate getting bumped off games!

I was just wondering if anyone else who playes Need For Speed Most Wanted Black Edition has trouble playing the game without getting bumped off.
I bought the game back in December and everthing was going fine. Just recently the game began to act strangely. After an average of 30-40 minutes of playing, the game would stop running and return to the desktop. On top of this all the Icons, menus, taskbar, ect. became greatly enlarged. The only way to return the screen to a normal size that has worked so far is to restart the computer.

Has anyone had such a problem? If so your sugestions and opinions on the subject will be greatly appreciated? Thanks in advance to all who can help me with this problem.

this happens whenever you play a certain game in a different resolution outside you native resolution..

for instance if you play at 800x600 but ur native is 1060x780 you will experiance enlarged icons once you leave the game and return to the desktop..

i used to experiance this problem all the time while playing newer games.. since my lappy.. is very old but has native at 1060x780... the games cant play at that resolution because it will be extremely choppy so they set it to 800x600.. or lower.. then when i exit it is enlarge icons...
.. its annoying but the only fix i have so far is to either restart like you have been doing, or mess around with the game itself and install and reinstall it... i finally fixed warcraft 3 from doing that awhile back... took awhile...

now with the crashing problems.. that seems like you might either have driver issues... with your graphics card.. check the drivers. or it might be something wrong with your computer... scan it for spyware and trojans... OR lol... it might have to do with the actual game.. (is there an error message)? when it crashes if so what is it?! ...

if its the game simple fix is to re install it and it should fix ...

 

No, error messages do not appear, it just retrurns to the desktop. I have re-installed it 3 times already with no luck.

Does it occur with other games? If possible, try installing that game on another notebook/desktop and see if experience a similar issue. That would at least help you narrow down the potential problem area/s

 

okay...I had this problem, while you are playing, you might have pressed the windows key on the keyboard by accident....

If you did, it minimizes the game usually, and chamges the resolution of the screen....and the start menu pops up...

 

No, I have had this problem with other games but not this one. It just exits without any trace of the program still running.

Do you have the latest patches for the game?

I know some games have patches to help with stability.

 

normally NFS offers patches for their games but I have searched high and low but I have found no such patches for NFS MW.

At the moment all I can tell you is that it is Need For Speed Most Wanted Black Edition for PC.

The Answer is YES!!!!! ALthough it's not hardware related, my internet is up and down all the time, and it makes me soooo mad when I'm trying to play DoD or something. Happens over 30 times a day I'd say (now that I quit my job i have alot more half life time) and I pay around 65 a month for my 10mb download and 1mb upload. Tried 3 modems, and they haven't sent a tech to look at the line. Next night I get mad enough, i'll threaten them with cancelling service and going to dsl....even though I don't have a land phone line hooked up anymore.

 

I have the same thing happen to me, but its need for speed: hot pursuit 2 that does it.

 

I have had problems in the past with NFS HP2 as well but they seem to have been fixed. What type of graphics/sound/memory/processor/hard drive do you have?
