did anyone run doom 3 (with the latest patch installed) on the e1505 with an x1400? i installed the game with the patch but the game freezes up on the load screen (initializing menus). i uninstalled it and reinstalled without the patch and it runs. any ideas as to what might be causing this?
    thanx.

nevermind. i solved the problem. the zonealarm firewall blocked outgoing communication of doom3, therefore stalling the game during the load process. i'm guessing its trying to access servers for multiplayer? same thing happened with quake 4.

this used to happen to me when i first got into online gaming (with DAoC)...i figured out that when it hung, the little popup from ZA was preventing me from playing...hitting Y on the keyboard worked for me.
