Meh... It's basically dota with better graphics on a different engine ._. Nothing much to be hyped about

Unless they put in more maps rather than just one, make everything balanced and the AI actually NOT cheat in reaction time :(

Bloodseeker looks a bit different than the one in WC3 though...

Sequel was already made. It's called League of Legends.

Maybe instead of making other people's ideas, Valve should concentrate on their HL3. L4D definitely made after success of Killing Floor. Team Fortress not their idea, wasn't even made on their engine. Portal another game not their idea.

And Heroes of Newerth was made with the permission of the of DOTA's creator. As if we need another iteration of this game. Considering both HoN and LoL are already being features on notable tournaments, the largest gaming event worldwide (WCG) and already played competitively. Valve has yet to impress me since HL2.

League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth... theres so many new options and more coming. Honestly, do they not have a different engine to use? Why can't they develop a Source 2 engine?

I like how they'll be using similar models to WC3 but revamped... Nothing beats the WC3 models!

Don't forget Demigod, when their network was fixed, was a fun game also.

What do you mean "not their idea"? The people who made Team Fortress, Left 4 Dead, and Portal were hired by Valve, and are Valve employees.

Also according to Wikipedia, Left 4 Dead came out before Killing Floor. Just saying. :)

Killing Floor was a mod released in 2005, 3 years well before L4D was conceived. And just hiring people doesn't make the project Valve's idea. TF was a mod for Quake and it was made before they became Valve employees. For Portal, the concept and mini-game was made before Valve hired the creators. As said, these game ideas had nothing to do with Valve initially.

And now that they're Valve employees, who's idea these games would be? ;)

Yeah... hiring them does make it Valve's idea. The ideas are there because Valve facilitated their maturity.

You can't really say L4D was made by one specific group. Those people went to Valve and became part of it. Anything they create while under Valve's employment would be considered Valve's idea.

Any one else read about the rumors behind IceFrog? Apparently he worked for Riot Games, S2 Games and then went to Valve and lied about his involvement with the others. Of course this is all questionable evidence, but still an interesting rumor.

As for Valve focusing on HL3, more people doesn't always mean more work done. Valve has been expanding and rather than saturating the HL3 team they've decided to disperse their (ever expanding -- thanks Steam!) efforts some what.

He can work for whoever the hell he wants. DOTA is not trademarked in any way, shape or form. If anything, it belongs to Eul, the original creator, who had his project stolen from him by Guinsoo, who retired and gave it up to Icefrog.

Honestly, I doubt Valve can take any legal action against S2games or Riot, considering Dota, it's heroes and models, designs, do not belong to Valve.
