Mechanized Menace Lost in the MYST
First off welcome to NBR.
I would say High and medium settings at Native res. Definitely can swing ultra in 1280x1024, but what's the point. Game will look amazing on medium/high settings. That is a pretty sweet laptop you got, and an SSD will only improve load times and overall system speed. Nice to have honestly. What laptop is that?
Another thing to note is that you really don't want all the bells and whistles while gaming multiplayer that can really hinder your performance. -
ty for the welcome, hmm, good to know, but, i think play an beautifull game like that in an 40''pol tv, with low quality in graphics is an crap, so, i prefer put in lower resolution like 1280x1024 and play with all in max then 1920x1080 with low or medium, in normal games (all others) i tested in my old pc, with an HD4870 1gb, and i cant really SEE the difference between 1920x1080 and 1680x1024 or 1280x1024...
sowhat u think is better? this notebook can play all games with max in 1280x1024 or maybe HIGH with 1920x1080? -
Games will look best at native resolution even with lower details. Things like HBAO, motion blur, etc will hinder your gameplay for multiplayer IMHO.

I am saying this to everyone nowadays
man please don't just go ahead and buy it, look at the market around Feb, chances we will see new generation of GPUs are pretty good (28nm), and they will perform MUCH better
at lower power consumption!

For BF3, turn everything off. It's just annoying blurs etc. BF3 graphically isn't very impressive at all, I find it's textures to be of surprisingly poor quality.
But then I'm not that big of a fan of this game, I get bored pretty quick. -
i understand, but, will this notebook serve me? or there's something better with lower price? ty
anyways, wait until feb come, for me is useless, im brazilian, and the new hardwares coming, take more then 4mouths for enter in brazil, and when it come, is with an super expensive price...
anyways, u guys know notebook models that got i7 + gtx560m OR 570m OR 580m with a price not much higher? -
You didn't say how much you spent on this one.

FORCE 1761 / MSI 1761
I think this is the best performance/price ratio in the market -
Sorry dont mean to hijack your thread....how will bf3 run on nVidia GeForce GTX 560M 3GB GDDR5 VRAM
-
First of all, by February, we'll probably be a month away from AMD's 7900M and 7800M, so I wouldn't be buying anything right now.
-
Do you think asus will be updating their graphics card as well? -
-
Asus and MSI are always the last to update, while Alienware and Clevo are always first.
It's hard to understand why MSI is just now taking pre-orders on a $2499 machine equipped with the GTX 580M. Kinda late to that party, no? -
Sorry i meant their top of line gaming notebook...no upgrades anytime soon? -

How does BF3 run on the M17x R2 with CF 5870's?
Doubt about 560M vs BF3
