How much more awfull would a game look like on a notebook with 1920x1080 as nat resolution when you set it at 1400x900 or even 1366x768?
    Thx in advance!

For a few games I have to scale it down to 1600x900 in order to set the details to max/ultra and I can say that it's ok. I thought that it would be a big deal, but it's ok. On 1366x768 I think that it's gonna be a bit ugly though.

I personally find anything other than native awful. It becomes very blurry and then requires AA imo.

How bad a game looks is probably one of the most subjective questions out there. It all depends. I care more about the storyline. I don't think graphics affect the game that much. That being said, I do prefer to not go one resolution below native. With my old laptop, I had to go down to 800x600 for Crysis (nat was 1440x900) and I was fine with it. I expect more out of my current laptop considering I payed quite a lot for it so I wouldn't expect to go below native for any game in the next year at least. Beyond that, I won't mind it. There's some who don't liek it, like ratchetnclank. It all depends.

    From my exp.
Is that with lower resolution your going to notice those jagged lines in gun models and vehicles.
With Higher resolution you may not even need AA. Most modern games I play I don't have AA on because I just don't notice the difference.
    Play around and test.

    Which game are looking at?

Last I hate bloom and Depth of field.

Isnt 1400x900 the right size for a 17 inch monitor? Cause when i stretch out pictures of that resolution on my 17 inch laptop hey perfectly fit onto my screen, however with a 1920x1080 it doesnt.

I've been using an Asus g51 with a 1920X1080 screen for 2+ years. From my personal experience playing on 1366X768 / 1280X800 ain't bad at all.

nope, aside that only if you have a 16:10 panel, which means older notebooks (3+ years) and last year mbp, you are dealing with 1600*900 at least
