    Hello
I would like to ask you to answer about downclocking GPU . Is it save ? Yesterday I was played Mass Effect with clocks : 384core-301memory-916 shaders , and max temperature during the game was 64 Celsius . When I play this game on stock clocks : 500-800-1250 temperature is about 80 Celsius .
I prefer to play with lower temperature than maximum details , but can I play with downclocked GPU safety ?
    What is your opinion ?
    regardes
    Pit

Downclocking is better than overclocking. It is safe as long as you don't flash your GPU BIOS.
But 80C as max gaming temperature isn't a big deal.
Before doing that, clean your laptop 1st. DUST = ENEMY

Suggestion 1(max GPU and CPU but lower temperature):
I suggest you to overvolt your CPU, so, the CPU temperature would be lowered.
With CPU cooler than usual, GPU would be affected too. The GPU temperature would decrease as well.

    Suggestion 2(downclock your GPU T.T)
See what kind of GPU(brand) you're using.
If it is nvidia, just download Nvidia System Tools(nTune) and downclock it there.
If it is ATi, I think the Catalyst 9.7 should able to do the underclocking.

    Suggestion 3(downVOLT the GPU):
BIOS related. Harder than Suggestion 1 and 2.

Try undervolting your CPU, much easier and 'safer' than undervolting the GPU.
No flash required, just trial and error with RMClock. Does not lower speeds either.
The cooler CPU should keep the GPU from heating up more.

Don't think downvolting the GPU would be a good idea unless you flash the lower voltage with lower clocks.

Nope. Lower Voltage can lower the temperature already.
Just like CPU, lowered the voltage then can have lower temperature.
The performance of GPU may not be affected with undervolting slightly(not tell you to undervolt it until malfunction).
But GPU undervolt is risky. BIOS LOL.

Many thanks for your answer :) .
CPU is not a problem - it is rarely goes upper 50 Celsius .
Undervolt GPU and fun with GPU BIOS is not a work for me :) .
I understand that simple downclocking GPU by nTune is safe and I can enjoy my games with lower temperatures of my machine ?

Underclocking the GPU doesn't have that much affect since clocks won't be lowered signifcantly enough. If you haven't undervolted the CPU, then you should do that first. Usually the heatsinks are linked or transferred along the same path, so cooling the CPU will give the heatsink more "ability" so to speak, to cool the GPU. Lower voltage does a lot more than lower clock speeds.
