Ok guys, so i have a road trip in like 10 days and i was wondering if downclocking my GPU by ...say 100 mhz of its usual clock will let me fork out an extra 30min to 1 hr of battery life.

I tend to get board on the road so i want to bring my little companion and watch movies on it..

is this a good idea? or will the pictures look ugly

Movies might become choppy, I remember than when I put my 8600 to the minimum clock possible the display slowed to a crawl, mouse movement were jittery... If you want to downclock go ahead but don't go to low. If you're travelling in a car why don't you get those converters that you plug in 12v outlets?

No. It`s actually expanding the average lifespan of the CPU and will make it run MUCH cooler,5-20C less :D
I set my battery speed as I want too, if I`m just browsing, 600Mhz is sufficient ,since it`s dual core...
One of these days I really have to do a battery test to see just how much I`ve gained.
