Is it possible to downgrade the Nvidia driver from 285 to 267?

I heard Overclocking works with that.

You can certainly try. Which notebook is it for?

Would you prefer it if I moved this thread to the Alienware M14x subforum? I think you would get better help there..

I tried, it says it couldn't find a compatible hardware.

& I have M14x. Piece of junkbox. :( Even Fifa 12 lags on it.

Well then you can't. And that wouldn't help much with overclocking. Plus, you'd lose the performance gains from driver optimisations.

And FIFA 12 on a 555m should run maxed out at more than 100FPS. Fix your Windows install and/or make sure you're running the game on the 555m and not on the Intel integrated graphics.

This belongs in the m14x forum.

FIFA 12 is a bug-ridden software. it's just a very lousy port from consoles to the PC. EA clearly knows its priorities (consoles = money) and doesn't care much about the PC port. they've only released one patch for the game so far, and you can't even update the game with Origin if you've installed it from a disc; you need to download the whole patched game (~6GB) again to use the "latest" improvements.

to get rid of the stuttering and lag in FIFA 12, use D3DOverrider to turn on triple-buffering and v-sync. it'll solve most (if not all) of your problems with that game.
