Man, NVIDIA developers must be tired! they release a new driver every week!
-
We need a modded INF ASAP!
-
-
Ok Guys .I attach the modded inf
-
Anybody tried this driver out (with the modded inf) ?? Is it worth it to install it?
-
-
That´s why buying "top" cards isn´t so good... when you have the money for buy one, there´s come Nvidia and release a new one, better than yours. -
I'm was thinking about to buy 8800M GTX system, but i decide to wait after i saw the GF 9500M card @ asus notebook.I think nVidia will release 9800 card with Intel next gen mobile platform .
BTW new driver seems to be more responsive with crysis, but found 2 problems with control panel .I can't set digital Vibrance & video gamma setting. -
Driver with modded INF wouldn't install for me.
-
Wonder if there's actually any benefit to performance? The only I can figure is it will improve performance of the new cards. (8800GTS, GT, GTX)
-
Going to install them now, test them out and let you guys know.
-
Installing, hopefully it can give me a small boost with crysis
-
There is no support for 8600m GT, just the 8600 GT. Also, it doesn't let me increase my digital vibrance...so yea they don't work too well.
-
I just tried it too, didn't work.... no support for 8600m GT
-
yep, however my 3dmark06 score went up by 135.
-
Wasn't the whole point of modded infs is so the drivers work on mobile cards? I haven't tried these drivers yet, gonna wait and see.

The have disk method, always works. -
ScifiMike12 Drinking the good stuff

has anyone tried these out? a little curious on how they perform.
-
Hm looks like people are having some problems getting these to work. From reading a bit it seems these are more targeted towards high end specced computers and newer games like crysis, not sure though
I think I'll just stick with my 163.67 drivers for now, since they are the ones giving me the least stuttering at the moment ^^.
Do wanna hear some more impressions though!.
Oh and, anyone know what's so special about the 171.xx drivers? first time I heard of them :s. -
picked up an additional 3.5 fps in the lost planet performance test
-
Just like the previous drivers after 169.04, only O/Cable after plugging in AC adapter, I'm gonna go crazy over this issue.
Anyway, don't see much of a performance nor stability change, cept that the nvidia control panel has undergone a makeover it seems -
Thx for letting us know, been waiting for these. Gonna try them and post later!
-
The AA issue is still present!
-
The XP Drivers are out on laptopvideo2go.com
-
I tested them out and no performance increase at all. I went back to 169.9. I trust that one more.
-
According to this, there is a small performance hit with the new 171 and 173 drivers. I would stay with 169.28 this is Nvidia's latest non-beta driver.

I just finished looking at the entire article. I didn't know it was optimized for SLI. So there maybe a little improvement.
"It should be immediately apparent that the Beta drivers we've sourced have yet to be optimised. Performance improvements are inconsistent and often worse than existing WHQL drivers. Ultimately, these new releases are meant to improve on multi-GPU and DX10 performance." -
I really hate to see issue with digital vibrance so i'm going back to 169.28
Ohhh....btw video gamma setting have problem too.. -
i'm going to give these a shot when i get home from work. after reading some other reviews on them, they seem kinda iffy, but people said they noticed about 5 fps increase in some newer games. other people said they caused instability and black screens. some people couldn't even get them to install.
also, i have this amazingly odd problem when running old games on 168.28 drivers (or anything other than the stock AW ones) when running counter-strike 1.6 (granted it is old). the game has the problem running on open gl graphics, though works decent on d3d graphics enabled (however, i get 80 fps and any characters that appear in game look funny... all this with sli 7950 gtx's mind you, though one is disabled when i play cs 1.6). i'll post up a screen shot later today in this thread. i doubt new drivers would fix the issue seeing how the game is old, but i thought i'd let people know, cause it's really strange. i don't know if anyone else has recieved this problem
other than that, i'll post later how the 171.16 drivers work with me and i'll give a benchmark -
3DMark06 score: res(1280x800)
171.16(NO-OC): 1561
169.09(NO-OC): 1584
169.09(OCed) : 2068 -
No big fps changes in FEAR and FS9. Maybe because this driver is only dx10 optimizes
-
hopefully this fixes the bugs in Crysis with the latest patch installed.
-
Anyone tested Crysis?
-
went back to .28. When I leave the fan controls on automatic with 171.16 it leaves the fan on 100%. Tested it out with Crysis and didnt fix the bugs in it. back to .28
-
may i know NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS << can install this new driver?
