Hi,
I'm thinking of downloading new drivers for my 8400gt card.
What drivers are the best/latest for games?
What do I need to download drivers?
Are there any in depth manuals on how to download drivers?
I'm a noob, and don't want to mess up my new laptop.

Your best bet would probably be to go with laptopvideo2go.com drivers. NVidia's laptop support for their drivers is tenuous, at best, but the modified .INF files on laptopvideo2go bypass NVidia's incompatibility. Just make sure you use System Restore to create a good restore point before installing the driver, just in case there is a problem.

Downloading new drivers isn't always the best bet for your particular setup. It may even decrease your gaming performance. You best option is to benchmark the game you want to play with your current drivers. Install the new drivers and then rebenchmark it. Compare the numbers and see which one is best for you. Sometimes specific drivers work better for specific games. Unless someone else with the same hardware setup has done the testing, you'll have to do the grunt work yourself.
