    DOX really outdid himself.

Anyone else tried this driver out or were me and Erik the only ones w8ing for this awsome driver optimization combo.

no they are all bull :)
I lie on my release notes just to get people to use them.... :D
Also I dont fix bugs in them either.

    seriously though:
I do full release notes with my drivers. You know what I changed in my drivers. Also I occasionally fix bugs in them like digital vibrance issue on 180.44 on XP (nvidia related bug that they fixed in 180.70).
    I wonder why tweakforce doesnt?
Also they seem to add mobile support using our own modded infs by pieter from laptopvideo2go, I write mine from the ground up.

but other than that, yeah my drivers are bull :D

Will your ground-up drivers allow Crimson Skies to run with hardware acceleration and non-distorted menus (something about nVidia drivers abandoning power-of-2 calls somewhere around Forceware 90's)? If so, I don't care if I take a 5 fps penalty on the rest of my games...

I've stayed away from video drivers that didn't make it through Dells stringent testing (ha ha), but I think I'll be trying yours out...

Thank you for sharing your time and expertise with us computer mortals...

I've installed them. In comparison to the stock 180.70 I score about 100 3dmarks less -but that's just 3dmark-, haven't tried anything else yet.

I really liked the install process, with the powermizer option and Nvidia control panel fix.

I'm gonna keep em and will check out some games and stuff later on :)

Thx for your hard work Dox! In which games should I really notice the difference - got any suggestions?

    all games really :)
The tweaks are universal for all games, dont expect like 10 fps improvments in them though.
These are hacked for a balance of image quality and performance, with less bloat compared to normal nvidia drivers (these does not affect 3D performance).
Also some nvidia driver service optimisations so that the drivers doesnt affect your overall system.

Basically these drivers are very highly optimised on all aspects and just for mobile users :)

Are the 180.70 from the link (File Front) and the one from Laptop2Video different?

They differ in size, Laptop2Video is around 44mb whereas File Front is 32.5mb

    you're getting confused.

The ones that are released here: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showforum=120
are made by pieter - no enhancements etc

You should download my ones that are posted in my release threads:
    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21982&st=0&start=0
They are hosted at laptopvideo2go. and mirrored at file front.

I Think this is the problem :)
People think the ones that are made by pieter is mine and think they are using my drivers when they are not. :D

I just moved from DOX 180.43 to DOX 180.44 and i am seeing some lag playing crysis and some other games. I guess its the driver .44 not the mod that gives me the lag but not BSOD ore crashes except for COD 4 somtimes. The .43 was OK and gived me more performance compared to 179.xx.

I will give a shoot to DOX 180.70 and i guess the should be better and more stable.

The 180.xx are still BETA for me. Lots of lag and i get artifacts playing crysis sometimes and cod4 at native res 1440x900. If i go at lower res it fine but i don't what that.

Are they another type of custom driver???

If so, could you also compare them to Dox's to see which custom one gives a greater gaming performance boost

Grid never goes under 35 frames with v sync, but with the.44 drivers i see some artifacts when i drive at high speeds, crysis sometimes shows a lot of artifacts at native res. Only with the 180.44 these stability issues are showing up.

I'm going to install these drivers later and see what will happen and i will post the results, I will try to do some benchs.

    Alright thanks.

PS - Does v sync reduce frames, or increase them, because my framerate is currently below 35.

Also what do you mean by artifacts???
I am currently using the 180.44 drivers, and if you can explain what you mean by artifacts I'll see if i have the same issues when gaming

it be cool if you took min average and max as well as IQ into account.
I dont personally mod these for highest/max FPS, i try and get things smooth with more steady frame rate and sharper textures vs stock :)

however next release I plan on giving you guys 3 options for install:

Balance*: a balance of image quality and performance (what you are getting now)
Performance*: noticiable image quality loss (but not ugly ;) ) for higher fps
Stock: No 3D image or performance quality tweaks, other optimisations remains

    * will still have the reduce stuttering tweaks

this should please people who like max fps and those that like what i do now as well as those who just want a "normal" driver :D

Dox i admired the IQ on the previous drivers, its unmatched really, and i think many of the people here need IQ>Performance

And yes, based on my previous experience with your drivers, MAX fps is reduced, but you get a higher min FPS, which is what gamers need really

I found a good topic that shows 2 types of artifacts.

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=3794233

There are tons of reason why artifact will show. Because of overheating, overclocking, low signal vs frequency, etc etc. I have never had artifact or something similar with my system except after installing 180.xx drivers so i guess there the problem.

Sometimes the PC may became unstable caused by driver bug, especially when the drivers are BETA.

I dont really know what to say because COD4 is crashin with 180.44, Grid and crysis have some artifacts and all theas started when i installed teh 180 drivers.

I will try later the 180.70 DOX vs 180.44 DOX drivers and i will post the performance and the stability review.

I will do GRID, Assasins creed, Crysis warhead, WIC and COD 4 tets.

I like your drivers, as they make games LOOK and run better, but the reason I was interested inFPS boost is beacuse my system isn't the best, but THIS post:
mentions that they boost min frames which is basically what I want and need (so that it stays above a certain amount), not the max to be higher.

Of course, I will continue to use Balanced option even in newer versions as I want the games to look as good as possible
I now understand better what it is you do, and my appreciation has only increased:D

@lum-x thanks for the link, I will compare both drivers when I get the 180.70 drivers. (I am on dial up so a friend with DSL is getting them and will give me in school tommorow)

So if my temps are normal, there is no need for v-sync, correct??

theres no need for v-sync at all unless you want to ge rid of "tearing".

oh and thanks for the comments folks, I really do appreciate them.

again thanks guys and any comments let me know here or over at laptopvideo2go, email or PM.

I have just checked the 180.70.

I don't see any artifacts so its a great news.

The game FPS are a bit higher.

Grid was with 180.44 min FPS about 30 now i get about 3 FPS more with 180.70 so it never went below 33 FPS with vsync.
Assasins creed was like 20-25 now about 25-30. I didnt expected 5 fps increase.
Crysis Warhead with EAZYE mod ( i didnt found the original config so i was lazy to find one) is going well and no more artifacts no more lag. The fps are 25-30 at 1440x900. The game is so much smooth and i thing the min fps are way much bigger.
COD 4 is looking very good. No more crashes like i had with 180.44. The FPS ware about 35-40 with vsync and mow i am getting about 55-60 with vsync and the game is very smooth compared to 180.44.

I wish i could done a better performance analysis but i didn't have much time.

I play lots of games with vsync because of LCD low refresh rate and it gives me some cuts in picture during gameplay when disabling. This is because of non-sync frame with LCD refresh rate.

You truly deserve them, my friend. You work much harder than most lazy manufacturers who we actually pay for their machines :p

basically tearing occurs when the fps rises above the monitor refresh rates.
like the top and bottom half of the screen is not aligned (like its teared) when turning in a first person shooting game for example

yep these should be faster than my 180.44 because i significantly re-done my driver tweaks adding extras and adjusting existing ones (as well as findinig more ways to optmise the nvidia drivers)
Just because my release notes/change logs looks the same with each release doesnt mean I use the same tweaks each time :D

To play Bly Ray you must have a player that supports blu ray videos.

The drivers will support blu ray and HD media as long as you PC can render them.

not all drivers work in fact.
theres a known thing at laptopvideo2go that nvidia will have an error saying un supported drivers and blu ray will not work.
Basically for some reason u need to install a WHQL driver (that means no using modded inf since it break the WHQL) for it to work.
I've found a work around for my drivers ;)

    Thanks for the quick replies.

It would be silly of me to ask if I didn't have a blu-ray drive. :p
