Butt kicking for goodness!!
Wait.. Wrong series.. -
765m pulls off High 720p.. 900p is a bit too sloppy. I gotta get new laptop
Only negative so far is kinda the beginning story, I was hoping it wouldn't do "Here is your inquisition, you are the chosen one, go kill demons", but sadly it did, people really do not know what character development means these days... Still it is fun, combat is really rewarding experience, mage seems a bit more fun thougheven at 720p and high game looks amazing! f*** AssCreed:Unity!

Alright so I have a 680m 4gig. All graphics on high, AA turned off in game/FXAA enable via control panel, HBAO; and I'm avg. 31.8 fps on the benchmark. Good enough for me. I'll probably play with other settings as time goes on

Running on my 780M, everything on High, HBAO, no MSAA. I'm impressed because it's a good looking game.
Framerate is always over 40fps so far, and I haven't installed the new Game Ready Nvidia driver yet..
Btw, if you want to stop the cutscenes from dropping to 30fps, add this to the launch properties in Origin:
-GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60 -

Is this game worth buying?
-
-
-
Everything maxed at at 1080p with 4xAA on my 970m. Plays nice and smooth, but there's still that AA movement shimmer. Any way to get rid of that?
Cakefish likes this. -
-
On a side note, it also seems that I can't get it to go fullscreen unless it's fullscreen windowed. Newest drivers (as of yesterday). -
-
-
anyone able to get the game to run at 60fps on a 780m via tweaking the game settings?
-
Here's the port report. Finally TB has put some usage statistics of his PC on-screen.

the game essentially runs FB3, same as BF4, and I managed to tweak the settings to get a decent 50-60fps at 1080p on mixed settings so I am hoping for the same....though I had the same feeling for FC4 because it's also running the same engine as FC3 and that didn't turn out so well.

but that's with BF4, i merely extrapolating based on the fact that DA:I runs the same engine BF4. -
Anyway, the game looks nice, and it could get better with drivers & patches too. It apparently looks pretty good on high as well from what I hear, so that should be okay. -

I'm trying to get an idea of what settings in the game has the biggest impact in FPS besides AA -
-
settings are at the start of the video. -
I want to like this game so badly... but the game is heavily "consoled".
Granted, it is better than DA2... but it is not anywhere near as good as DA:O.
-Stat system very badly simplified (this isn't even a Skyrim... this is a Diablo3 simplification)
-staggeringly awful camera angles, especially when fighting larger creatures (please tell me they are patching this it completely ruins fights)
-Tactical mode is a bad joke... why can't I just click what I want to control? Why is lclick attack even when I have nothing to attack?
(I get why control is nerfed so badly on a console... why would a PC need these limitations with a mouse/kb available? Why can't we choose a DA:O-like tactical mode?)
-Why do I have to click constantly to auto-attack? (special kind of stupid)
-Why do DA:O animations look more fluid? (The DA:I characters look better when they don't move, but when they do its so... weird.)
-Am I the only one who has more desire to kill everyone I am supposed to work with than adventure next to them?
(nevermind anything else) -
the only concern i have is the KBM controls for the tactical view. i watched TB's vid on this and he said for KBM it's terrible as it is really meant for a controller.

I didn't realize he went ahead with the 5930K.
Oh well. -
Well DDR4 is still expensive as sin, so I'm not surprised he downgraded to 16GB, which is more sensible but still overkill for gaming. At least this means people can stop making fun of him for having 32GB RAM in a gaming-only rig.
And yeah, absolutely no point in getting a 5930K over a 5820K unless you're doing quad-GPU. For 3 or fewer cards, 5820K has more than enough PCIe lanes. -
Well, specs aside, this game is insanely hard! (or I am trying stuff I shouldn't) I am level 8 atm, playing on Hard difficulty, and some rifts in hinterlands (especially 2nd farm one, in the middle of river) is ridiculous! I am playing an archer atm, and I have a single tank (Cassandra) so this is pretty much expected, but holy hell did anyone try the dragon at hinterlands at hard? I can barely chip away 10% of his hp before dying
-
-
-
I also ran into the dragon, a single fireball knocked a decent chunk of Cassandra's HP, so I promptly retreated and will get to it when I have access to fire resistant gear as well as a higher level.
By the way, I went the dirty console peasant route with DA:I, just like I did with DA:2. It felt like the game was going to be geared towards consoles anyways. -
Game runs well - opening stages got me close to 60FPS maxed out with MSAA 2x and a simple 10% overclock to my GPU.
Now I'm into the Hinterlands though, and I get closer to 45FPS. Might drop some settings to see if they don't affect the visuals too much. Then again, it's hardly an action game so the need for a locked 60 isn't quite as necessary. -

I'll check VRAM usage later and turn down the MSAA. Annoying that some settings require a full game restart but I don't think that is one of them.
Not sure if I should stick to max settings and just lock the game at 30 (same as the cutscenes) or lower things to medium/high and play at 60. With something like Far Cry 4, the choice is obvious. Here not so much. -
Anybody managed to get inside Redcliffe??
-
standard or deluxe? is the stuff in the deluxe worth the extra $$$?
-
standard big time, in terms of items, you drop them as soon as you finish your first adventure. Btw I am really liking the game, its DA:O meets Elder Scrolls (drop the magnificent story though, however we still didn't finish the game, maybe it will turn out to be just as epic
the start was a bit lackluster though, here is your inquisition, go kill demons, gluck!
)
-
Btw I think the Storm Coast in this game is the most beautiful looking environment since some of the environments I have seen in Icewind Dale.. Artwork in this game is truly phenomenal...
