I just got dragon age 2 and its really cool and all, but jeez, i can barely play 30 minutes at a time before it freezes and force quits. Anyone experiencing this issue or know of a patch or something they released to fix it?

I running on my desktop (specs bellow) with highest settings (x4AA not x8), and it runs very nice and smooth except for these totally random freezes.

    Thanks for any help!

Is there a way to turn off texture streaming... if it's on? I know that's an issue for some games.

I was going to say this.

It's unreadable, even when I try 200% zoom.

    Fix that.

Sorry about that, but you know you can click on it right? =)

    Anyways here it is:

    i7-860 @ 3.8
    ati 5850
    4gb ram 1600

And the game settings im running it at highest w/ 4x AA. I know this is a notebook forum, but im not really registered in any desktop forums so i asked here. I believe the desktop 5850 sit somewhere around a mobility 5870 crossfire for reference. I havent tried the game on my notebook yet.

Im at home right now so im going to run it at dx9 first and see if that helps.

I think it is something with dx11. I set it to dx9 mode and ive had no trouble at all playing for several hours.

DX11 runs extremely jittery for me, even if it says the framerate is over 30.

I'm going to shelve the game, until they've fixed the performance issues.

I had problems with the highest detail setting in DX11 so I moved it down one to just high and fps never drops below 60. Completely smooth.
