Has anyone used a Surface Pro 3 (or other recent Win8 portable laptop/notebook/tablet pc) via MiniDP/ DP to run a Dual Link DVI D - QHD / WQHD monitor - 2560 x 1440p | 1600p

Which of these would work?
Previously people have recommended/ used Active Adapters like these.. (for Apple Cinema/ 1440p / 1600p displays). Anyone use one of these?
