I've installed the latest modded ATi Catalyst driver (8.4) using the Mobility Modder tool, and the powerplay is sort of...well, missing.. It happened to 8.3, but not 8.2 (the version i was using before going to 8.4) . Is there any way to restore the Powerplay functions without retrograding back to Catalyst 8.2? My card is an Mobility Radeon X1700.

You should probably check with Zardon or Spike, they usually get feedback quickly after launch.

If it's fixable they usually have an answer quickly, if not them it's usually on the to do list for the mod of the next set of drivers.

Something may have changed in the code that's different that they need to adapt to.

You could still manage power settings through ATiTool, but that's a pain of course.

You should consider trying either AtiTool or NHC (notebook hardware control) in case you can`t recover powerplay. I dunno what catalyst is running on my HPnx9420 with a X1600 card, must be 8.1 and it has the powerplay so I did not need to change it...

Tried the ATiTool, it didn't work (Vista x64 requires some signed drivers :p). I believe it is really a change of coding that caused it to lose powerplay after 8.2. I'll email the author of the software in a couple of days, but for now, is there any alternative modder tools (preferably works with x64)?

Any idea on how to fix it or where to find a solution? Thanks in advance.
