I have a Lenovo T61 with 32b Vista Home Prem and an Intel X3100 graphics card. When I try to upgrade the video card driver I get the error:

"The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer's manufacturer. Setup will exit."

I've tried unsuccessfully to get around this. Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

EDIT: Heres what I was doing wrong. I only had .exe files, and when I tried to execute it the error message came up. I needed to treat it like a archive and extract it to a folder first, then follow the instructions both the readme for the driver and illmatic2609 describe.

Which drivers are you trying to use? Make sure they were for Vista 32-Bit.

Also, are you using the setup.exe in the extracted folder?

I'm not sure if this method applies for integrated graphics.....but if so, use this alternate method:

    1. Right-click Computer and go to Properties.
    2. Click on Device Manager and hit Continue if prompted.
    3. In the Device Manager window, go to Display Adapters and double click on your video card.
    4. Go to the Drivers tab.
    5. Click Uninstall to get rid of the previous drivers.
    6. After that, click on Update Driver.
    7. Click on Browse my computer for driver software and then click on Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
    8. Now click Have Disk and browse to where you have the downloaded drivers with the replaced INF file inside of it. Select the inf in the browser and hit Open and then Ok.
    9. Click ok and let the drivers install. After it is done, reboot your computer.
