Hi there. Just wondering what all 9600M/9650M owners are using of drivers out there. I've installed the latest in the 26x.xx series and they're all horrible. Either i have missing resolutions in games (like my native), otherwise i get BSODs, otherwise the control panel is just plain bugged. Not to mention the brightness has been bugged (cant get the brightness as low) ever since the 19x.xx series began. So right now im using 186.82, but they're god damned old.

What are you using, without flaws?

    Thanks,

I've been using 258.96 since it was released without any issues. CoreAVC doesn't seem to like the newer driver versions after that because using CUDA for video processing just causes stutter in higher bitrates, and Since I use it more for that than gaming...

I've gone back and forth between some of the newer drivers and the one I currently have installed. No noticeable differences.

Hmm... But how big a difference is there even between a set of drivers that (seem) to work better with this card in terms of bugs (im not sure of performance) and those new ones? Arent the newer ones more about optimizing for the later set of graphiccards?

To me, that's how it usually seems to work, They'll add fixes to the drivers that help newer cards, and at a certain point, it'll start breaking features on older cards.

You'd have to poke around release notes to see what specific changes were made in a driver though.
