I do not know how the regular Nvidia drivers work with the Quadro cards, if they are supported at all. Stay with Dell's drivers, they will be the most stable. I doubt you are going to see any sort of performance increases with a newer driver set - the latest isn't always the greatest. Newer drivers fix bugs in games and other apps mostly, and don't always offer performance improvements. Therefore, if you don't have any problems now, then there is really no need to upgrade.

I've tried several modded drivers on my M90, and so far the Dell drivers gave me the best performance. If you want to play with hidden driver options (like Performance vs. Quality, forced LOD etc), have a look at RivaTuner

Does the Quadro even work good for gaming? I know when it comes to Desktops they are designed for programing.

yeah, it works great for gaming, just a hair under the 7900gtx (they have the same core) but only for laptops. for desktops the quadros can bearly game.

Yes, the Quadro FX 1500M and 2500M are very powerful performers. Based on the 7900 core. Even Sager and Alienware offer them alongside the 7900GS and 7900GTX on their computers these days.

I would suggest just sticking with your Dell drivers like others have said. I've tried a bunch of other drivers, but none of them really helped, and some of the actually hurt the performance. And all of them changed the picture quality... for the worse. Gamma seemed to be screwed up and contrast got pretty shoddy. I tried fixing it, but the contrast just never got as good as with the standard Dell drivers. I always inevitably switched back.
