I have a laptop that's running the display to a monitor, but I want to do dual monitors. That is easy, open the laptop and show both displays.
But what I want to do is play games on the main screen while netflix is on the laptop screen itself, WITH sound coming out of the laptop speakers, and sound from the video game coming thru my headset..
So is it possible for me to split the sound like that? How do I do it?

Set laptop speakers as default.
Open up browser and Netflix.
And then set your headset as default.
Anything you open later including games will use your headset.
I do that often when I'm streaming football games.
Not sure if its gonna work if the headset are not USB input.

Virtual Audio Cable if that doesn't work. Plus you can do a lot more with it and have it more permanent.
Dual Monitors, dual sound?
