Wow, I can't believe people are actually playing the demo for the next Duke Nukem?! Lost count of how many years I've been waiting for this game to come out. Did watch the trailer earlier, actually look's like alot of fun.

I had fun with it. The demo really left me wanting more. So far it feels like a perfect homage to the old duke games.

Also, I might add that its quite refreshing to see an over-the-top game like this. Nice change of pace from all the military shooters out there.

huh? left wanting I'm afraid, I know its only a demo but the pace was way off and not fast enough to compete with the originals, the ability to only hold two guns? wth was they thinking with this one, duke is supposed to be a one man killing machine, even Isaac from dead space gets 4.

Goods points are the fact it looks and runs beautifully on my machine on high settings with AA off. That's about it really..

    Just my thoughts.

That was quite a fun demo. It did really left me wanting more heh.

I was surprised the game was auto configured on my machine on max settings, and I actually ran it alright 30-60fps.

I think the first fight with the cyclone took a bit too long for my taste, but it was alright.

Awesome demo! I ran it maxed out 1920 x1200, FXAA, everything high ran 60- 90 FPS, Can't wait till the 14th now! Glad I preordered this and BF3. It looks awesome, but I wish it was in DX11. I agree Duke should be able to hold a lot of guns I constantly had to run back to switch from the RPG to the Shrink ray which is just JOKES! Classic Duke commentary as well.

I'd hope you guys with 5870s can max it out.

I think it's running on Unreal 3.0 (not even 3.5)

..that being said I can get 30/40ish fps usually at 1600x900 on my low clocked 5650 (450/800).

    oh right.

    Cheat codes:

    dnnuk
    dnrate - Shows FPS.
dndebug - Shows debug info on the screen.
    dncoords
    dnclip - No clip.
    dninventory
    dnweapons - Gives all weapons.
    dnunlock
dnmonsters - Removes your weapon's model and makes monsters not do damage to you anymore.
    dnshowmap
    dnview
    dnkroz

Most are the same commands as from Duke 3D, but I have no idea what they actually do in DNF.

also you can't type them in too fast or they do not register

Demo was not bad. Felt abit dated in many ways. I have been waiting Forever so i have some modestly high expectations .

Ill be purchasing it first day and hopefully the final product really shines since i know this Demo is the old PAX one.

I think the game is optimized pretty poorly.
most of the time GPU usage was 50%-70%

Or maybe you are CPU bound? I doubt it, but what is your CPU usage? If it's tapped at 100% then that may be the problem. If not, then if it's not running at 100% then that should mean your GPU is more than adequate, right? Why should it top at 100% all the time if it doesn't need to?

Oops, sorry I meant 50% to 70% GPU usage when the FPS was less than 40.

Like whenever I see low FPS, the GPU usage is low.

Now I'm really excited? All that with a 720QM? So I take it, with those kind of FPS crossfire works?
I prepurchased this game yesterday. Nvidia's really pushing the 560M with this game. It must be a 3D enabled game.

I'm soooooooo glad to hear this!!!!!!!!!!!! I have had a rough time with Crossfire in Crysis 2(was resolved with 1.4 until I was forced to install 1.8), NFSS:U(resolved) & the witcher 2(resolved). I already have a 55" 240hz 3D LED Samsung so I don't require 3D on my laptop.

How do you compare that TV to the RGB LED panel on your R2? I ask because I have the 60" Sharp Quattron 3D, which is very similar to yours and people keep raving so much about the RGB LED panel that it's making me think it's better than a top of the line TV panel.
