    Dv2500t with 312mb 8400GS or Dell1420

    i am conufused :confused: when u go to hp website u get an option for 320mb Nvedia 8400 GS on Dv2500t where as on dell website for inpirion 1420 u get 128mb 8400GS, are they both same or what? WHICH ONE IS BETTER :confused:

    They're the same, technically the 8400 can borrow system memory so it could have more, but that's a bit of a marketing tactic on the part of HP.

    The HP has 64mb of dedicated memory, while the Dell has 128mb. I don't know if that is going to impact the performance of the 8400m GS though.

    the dell is better because it has double the dedicated memory

    The Dell is better because it has twice the dedicated memory. The dv2500t only has 64 MB of dedicated memory.

    If the 8400M is anything like the previous Go7400 then the 64MB version should have very similar performance compared to the 128MB version. TurboCache is very effective and almost compensates for the lack of dedicated memory.

    Of course we need benchmarks to prove this . . .
